The BNV (RACV) trolls are rather obvious when you learn where to look.

They aren't very subtle either. You can pick the pattern and trends. The 2nd Womble wrote:The BNV (RACV) trolls are rather obvious when you learn where to look.

that's correct. no australian state has a road user charge for cars. the NZ does. australia has one for trucks, it's calculated on average usage rather than individual usage so it's a bit half-baked, but the only charge for cars is fuel excise, which only covers part of their costs. they don't pay their way.biker jk wrote:Motorists produce enormous negative externalities such as pollution, traffic jams and road deaths, for which they do not pay.

Of course we pay road tax, it's called income tax.kunalraiker wrote:Not until we pay any road tax, no we don't.
IIRC, I grossed $137ish last financial year, paid a BIG whack of PAYE plus tax on my modest investments, I've paid my way on the bike and a fair bit more thanks.
...whatever the road rules, self-preservation is the absolute priority for a cyclist when mixing it with motorised traffic.
