Hahahaha! I was going down Glorious last Saturday and I smelt something that got me thinking. Were they actually my brakes or were they from the car ahead of me (the same one that I let overtake me before the desent as I said I'd more than likely catch it before the hairpin) that I was catching up too that was making the burning smell? That's really the only time I have ever smelled them. I still had pretty good feeling in the brakes...

Injured my knee at work, not sure how long I'll be off the bike for, may not make my target.

Great work Luke and Dimma, I was JUST able to get the job done with another 6 runs of Bellthorpe but had a front tyre blowout coming down the 4th time, that was seriously scary  . I really hope Strava doesn't do another climbing challenge for a little while, I need a rest! :)

Certainly seems to be a bit more of a challenge than the silly "how many km I can do in a …" challenges.

Have about 20 meters left to finish Rapha rising today... Was going to hire a city bike and finish it but don't know if I can be bothered!.

Rapha Rising - yeah I've been battling with a knee issue (seems to be muscular) over the last 2-3 weeks. I had really wanted to smash it out quickly and get an impressive number for the week, but ended up hopping in the car with the missus Wednesday through Friday.

On the plus side, the five days rest seems to have worked. Touch and go - just commuting (which isn't too bad for holding my fitness, if I push myself) and will start throwing some longer/challenging rides back into it later next week, maybe week after.

Yeah I reckon they are broke for keeps.

Strava has switched to a new API that requires sign-in authentication, instead of just quoting a Strava username.

You would have noticed the change when using Veloviewer - you now have to authorise Veloviewer to get your info. Much like the way Facebook shares info.

So the dude who built the cycling goal thingo will have to re-work it, if he can be bothered.

It's not just re-writing for authentication

Wow... Very cheeky on the part of Strava... Forcefully introduce a new API, don't resource it internally, and then use the lack of resources as a reason for limiting the number of developers they allow to use said new API.

If that article wasn't written by Ray, I'd be thinking I'm missing something (Strava's side of the story, perhaps)... but knowing that Ray is a fence sitter by design and painstakingly unbiased... if Ray says something's amiss, it probably is.

At least Veloviewer works.

In regards to the V3 API fiasco, having read that little diatribe I definitely won't be resubscribing to Strava and at the end of the year I'm outa there!

For me, the social aspect of Strava far outweighs the V3 API stuff. Yep, I'm bummed that they're doing what they're doing, but there's no better alternative for me.

I'm going to keep using Strava, but cancel my premium subscription in protest. I don't get anything really out of the premium stuff anyway, did it to support a good website.
