No, seriously, the pass isn't that bad, sure it's long but the grade is pretty even, the road surface is terrific at the moment and the scenery superb. I reckon the climb up Tourist road with 130+km in your legs will be memorable, and the drag up out of the RNP to Bald Hill is never easy.riles wrote: haha the way your saying that is implying otherwise i would say really looking forward to it though, going to be a great weekend of riding thats for certain
Day two has some great roads and a few climbs to look forward to as well. You'll be having a great time

Nice ride! That hill looks painful. How do you add the photos? Is that a premium only thing?norbs wrote:Friday ride.

Not sure if it's premium feature, try syncing your instagram account with your Strava account, it's in the settings somewhere.Andywho wrote:Nice ride! That hill looks painful. How do you add the photos? Is that a premium only thing?norbs wrote:Friday ride.

If you upload a pic to your instagram account while your Garmin is on during a ride it will show up on your Strava ride.

I picked up the cheque yesterday. I can't believe the number of people who say 'Of course he will pay!' My experience in life is different.DaveOZ wrote:Sorry to hear that Graham. Hope the guy pays up to replace your bike.
Anyway, there is a new frame (Impulso) with a group set to go on it at the LBS.
Thanks for all the good wishes and support.

I have been commuting by some quieter back roads a bit, which add some distance, but are much quieter than some of my commute roads.

My worm isn't looking so healthy but he's showing a bit of life now. I'm doing a ~250km charity mtb ride over 3 days next week so should be heading in the right directioin after that.Marto wrote:Yay, I'm above the line! Hopefully I spend more time above the line than I have so far this year. It's like the run rate plot in a limited-overs cricket match.

Had my first group ride today, a lot of fun. Glad I waited 'till I had a little bit of fitness before I joined or I would have seriously slowed the group down, just managed to keep up today. Only really got behind on the last hill 1km out of town. Boy is it cruisy though going down hill/on the flat in a group. Avg about 4-5km/h faster over the whole 2.5 hour ride compared to solo.

It was fun to ride in a large bunch (think there were 25ish riders) but I don't do the big bunch thing all that much but once I worked out who was riding in a straight line and had their hands on the brakes, and who wasn't, it was all good. I also came in handy as a native guide when there was route confusion and got to have a long chat with a guy on a Cervelo R3 as part of my due diligence, though I'm beginning to think I will be joining a cult when I get mine. Can't wait

Nice work Macca but I think you may have misunderstood...you have until the end of the Calendar year to clock up 6K, not the Financial yearmacca33 wrote:Edit - I DID crack 3K Km today. I also managed to snag a few PBs on the regular Sunday morning loop!

Too true, fact is I've been enjoying it so much the miles have gone easy. With winter fast approaching the consistency will decline, but I'll keep pushing on!

Went for my first anual check-up at the cardiologist on Friday. All is going really well. He lowered my dose of beta blockers because my heart rate was too low (40). This will go some way to stopping feeling so tired and potentially increase my cycling performance. Also is seems that that damn cough that I've had for months was actually and allergic reaction to one of my medications. He swapped to another one and it was gone the next day.
So I'm back to commuting. I stopped for the past 4 weeks because the cough would not go away and I did not want to get a chest infection in the colder weather. Yesterday I rode to work in the rain (AT) 9C and after a hot shower I felt fine.
Now I just need to get back into shape.
Hope you get back on the bike soon Lewy, we both have a lot of catching up to do.
