First ride back over the lurgi (almost) this morning - it HURT! Oh well, hopefully I'll be back into it properly in a week or so.

Keep up the good work everyone - I see a few of you really putting the miles in - great efforts!

cheers

I'm still on my way towards my 9k Km - just have to rid my body of this blasted ManFlu. I can ride at present, but generally cough up a lung and my HR is very high for my output, so I know the body still isn't back to peak efficiency.

I'm trying to take it easy, so allowed the Search2Retain NRS team to tow me up and down Beach Rd this morning - it was an enjoyable ride....if you disregarded the galeforce wind... :x

Keep up the good work all!

cheers

I just worked out I have to ride 200km per week for the rest of the year to hit 6000km. While I have done this in the past I just can't see it happening but I will give it a shot. Looks like some long commutes are needed.

I appreciate you riding in the cold mornings, Dave. We rode one morning setting off at 7:30 am which is after you leave and one of the guys stopped- he had hypothermia! Doc said it was made worse by breathing in fog which probably had ice crystals in it. Average temperature for the ride was 1 degree C.

I might stick to the afternoon rides.

200km/ week is not that much more than the 130 odd you need to do anyway to make the target. Does that help?

I am in the same 200km per week predicament too.

I have done around 170 per week for the last 2 weeks so I will see how I go.

Thanks Graham. I can cope with the cold, I have clothes for it but this wind just wears me down. 80km/h out there now. I have to work in it all day loading my truck. It's always a headwind riding home and I just hate it. Especially when all my mates in Sydney come back with 'What wind?"

No wind in Brissie today. Unusual for August.

So from the sounds of it, Dave & Mugglechops are going riding with GrantW. 200ks you say, so just the one day per week :D

28 C in Brissie today and relatively light breezes .... perfect riding weather. Don't know how you ride in the conditions mentioned earlier in the post.
Managed to complete the Moreton Bay 100 on Sunday my first 100k for the year. Also rolled through 4000k a week or so back keeping a little ahead of target which is pleasing as we are nearly over winter.
Looking forward to spring.

got past my goal today, so i have updated to 7999 as a new challenge, but i think i may pass that too now the weather is getting better, todays ride was pretty good, the wind from the west at times was difficult to push into but once you were protected from wind it was great :D

Well done Grahame and Breezer. nice work :-)

I too passed my original target some time in the last few days and with the worst of winter now behind us, I reckon I'll be upping the target again, again, before too long.

Breezer1 - I see that your 'cycling target thingy' appears to be working. Is it back up and running again??? Not that I've ridden since Sunday, mind you - I cannot shake this infestation!

Ah, cheers mate. I looked at BikeJournal, but figured it to be too hard for me, so I'll keep the VeloViewer log for now.

Your bike looks too tired to stand up, Mugglechops

I'll have to look at bike journal also.

Reduced Kms and efforts for me on commutes last Thursday and Friday, and for a while yet, after getting a hamstring strain in a special sprint stage Friday before last. Slight pain when doing seated climbs or seated accelerations, but spinning and out of saddle climbs/efforts fine (ouchies when walking up inclines and sitting in one position too long also). Pain not too bad, so it's a low grade strain, but I don't want to make it worse by pushing it.
