Who is on board?

If you need a Strava autographometerthingy, jump over to this link

http://statmonkey.is-a-geek.net/cycling/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
(and remember to use compact version of signatures on BNA)

Set your target for 2013 and away you go.

The only rules are you start the year with a target between 6000kms and 6999kms.

For some history, see the 2010 Edition, 2011 (part A), 2011 (part B) and 2012 Edition.

If you are new, welcome to the friendliest, most funnest group in the known universe and all other parallel universes. If you are back again, thanks for returning, may your winds be from behind and the air stay in you tyres.

MOD Note: Thread no longer sticky.

I'm in, nice vid! Will have a go at setting the goal on Strava, instead of 'old skool' Bike Journal.
Looking fwd to what 2013 will bring!

I'll be back. I'd like to just continue with Bike Journal, is that possible? Can one manually enter stats on Strava?

Last day of work for me for the year so it looks like tonight's total is it. Just over 7,200KMs, an excellent total for me. Not sure if I can achieve that next year. January will be lean as I'm not back to work until the 21st. Then I'll play catch up for a while.

I want to be included but I'm probably going to be booted out and into the 10k club :(
I'm aiming for 10k or more for 2013...

Norbs, great intro and thanks for the mention in the vid....you've got 12 months to plan the intro for the 2014 edition...you keep raising the bar with these intro's....along with your cycling goals

I'm still 120km short for 2012 but I'm definitely in for 2013.

Sorry to say I never felt part of the club this year, like 2011, maybe all the Strava climbing stuff. I missed the published kilometer list that we had in 2011.
I will be around but ,will spend more time in "Retro Biking". Good luck to all & stay injury free.

Back in for 6k again.

Just bought my wife a road bike today, so with any luck that will increase the k's.

Even with a few interruptions i'm over 7,000 for this year, and next year i'm aiming for 15,000 so i'm well and truly out but i'll keep watching, it's been an entertaining thread.

I'll go in for 2013 but if the BikeJournal progress bar continues to work I will stick with that. Also BikeJournal has the total club KMs which I like. I already put my stats into BikeJournal and Endomondo (commuting challenge) and don't really want to add a third site.

Anyone know if the BikeJournal progress bar will continue. I assume it is acceptable to continue to use this method if the progress bar continues to work.

Is BNA forums abandoning BikeJournal? I hope not as the league table is great on that site. Not sure I want to bother with Endomondo again.

Norbs, what is the thinking behind the 6999. Surely we aren't shutting out those intending to do, say, 8.000km. Or having a mass of narrow-band target threads in addition to the existing two? I note that even your own target at years end is 9.999. (Congrats btw) Beacuse we also have a 10k club, 9,999 seems the logical upper end to me.

Ditto on the bike journal if possible. I already have some years use of it and everyhing I do gets manually logged, my "real" log is linked onto it niceley and has workded well for years.

Though I assume that it does make compiling a periodic list more awkward if that is intended to be up and running again.

Count me in. Might cross the 6k mark mid way through next year though. Might not be able to make the 10k club though :P

The thinking is that to link into the 6K theme, you start with a target of between 6000 and 6999kms. It matters not if in Feb you want to up the ante, as long as you start with that goal, all is good. I started the year with the aim of hitting 6999. I went a little berserk after I signed up for the charity ride. This year, in the words of Lance Armstrong, is not normal. :)

I agree that the upper end COULD be 9999kms, but what do we call the club? The 6000 to 9999km Club? :)

I'm in again. I'll set the goal at 6999km. Aiming for more dirt plus now Noah rides his own bike instead of being towed rides with him are shorter so it's going to be harder getting distance up in 2013 as compared to the last couple of years, making the target a fairly realistic one.

Aiming for a bigger year of climbing though. I'll up the ante to a minimum of 6999m per month on the way to a 100000m target for the year, more time on the short steep climbs in the area. I'll add conquering Mellows Rd non stop on the road bike to the goals as well. My best attempt so far is 2 stops.

I'll have to throw my hat into the ring this year. I hit 6000+ a year a few years ago, but now that the commute has dropped from 200k/week to about 50k/week, I need to pickup my game.
