bugger. Hope it comes back clear for you.

I had one out of my chin last year. Always a good wake up call about sun safety.

I hope all is clear. Just out of interest, whereabouts was it? I hardly ever check my legs, probably should.

As it's nearly the end of the month it's time to review progress and I'm close enough to 700km for the 28 days with 8000m of climbing. Compared to last year (240km and 1400m) it's a big turn around, and I'm well ahead of this years goals, but I can't help but feel a bit flat about. I'm clearly missing the endorphins.

It has been a frustrating month with weather making everything difficult - a tough 200 early in the month - wet and windy I can enjoy (and I did! a great day out) - but the cruelling of my 400km plans last weekend, after a good prep, has left me feeling a bit sapped of mental and physical energy this last week. It will pass I know and there are some other long tough rides to look forward to later in the year and there's always tomorrow :D

I have bitten the bullet and am now letting Strava drive my signature bar thingy. Trying to get BJ to work defeated me.

Thanks coffeeandwine - in the end it all got to be taking too much effort but I do appreciate the considerable effort you made.

That bar can be set to work with Bike Journal. The old progress bar which worked off bike journal last year seems to be gone. My progress bar works off Bike Journal, you just need to change your settings.

Just above the sock line on the back, right in the middle, I also never worried about the legs as I'm usually back by 8am. Years of beaching boating I guess.

Hope they got it all Mustang and that you heal up quick.

Grant, I know what you mean about feeling flat from missing the 400. Without it I felt like my month was going to be a bit lacking and that overall I'd been a bit slack but in the end I still managed 718.2 km and 9299 m of climbing meaning I got even further ahead of the triangle and comfortably kept my 6999m per month climbing goal alive. I guess it's really that the Berry Mountain 200 was right at the start of the month that makes it seam like the month was less than it really way, almost like that was part of last month's effort and missing the 400 was missing the big target for the month.

The other let down with losing the 400 was that it was a rare occurance of the Strava challenge lining up so well with the planned Audax ride and a rare chance to actually be competitive in the overall standings. The weather had other ideas though and I can be thankful that missing a ride and ending up with some wet carpet was all I had to deal with in the conditions.

So as I look towards March I haven't really settled on a big ride or goal for the month yet. There's a couple I've considered but for now my first goal is to finish of the 15 hours for the February Fifteen, Australia vs the World Challenge and see if I can continue on with the momentum and keep it up for the Train Like Taylor Challenge. That gives me a goal to keep going with for the first half of the month by which time I should have worked out what I'm doing with the second half. I must say the time based challenges are a nice change as they mean all types of riding is of equal value for the challenge, whether it be a tough ride on one of the local climbs, a faster flatter one, a casual cruise with the kids or some exploring on the MTB.

Cracked 1,000KMs today. Not bad considering I've only been back at work and riding since late January. 700KM in a short month is good too.

Should catch the dreaded triangle soon and make that sig line green.

A very lean Feb for me with 162kms.

March is not going to look any better with this crappy weather and shoulder surgery on the 7th.

Heal quickly Mustang!

I might have to start wearing long black socks like an infamous Texan :)

A timely reminder to all us other 6Kers to check our skin (more often). For more info on skin cancer-the Cancer Council. However the photos and explanations are much clearer here.

Report for February:
Only 359 km this month, 3616m of climbing-so behind on both counts. Started the month in front but the bike was off the road for two weeks (needed to replace a shifter), will now have to make up ground...

Some good news, my new wheels finally arrived (waited two months) so extra motivation to get out on the bike-they feel fast.

Back into it this week after nearly 2 weeks off the bike whilst on holiday. Butt is VERY sore...lol

Typically, Cycling Tips' challenge arrived this week also. I've done 50%, probably won't make 15 hours though.....

Went out for a long one today up to Bundeena through the RNP. Very wet and very windy yet I somehow managed a sub 9 hour 200.

The rain and wind coming back through the Park and along the coast road on Bald Hill was quite something. When I got to Sandon point and had a look back over my shoulder I saw

Top effort Grant. Certainly looks like the rain was worse up north. I went out with Noah and we only had a couple of small showers to contend with. The wind was another story though, thankfully we didn't have to head into it very often. I guess you had to face it as a headwind for around 100 km.

& here was I thinking I had done pretty well by commuting to manly Sat & Sun adding 110 km to my week & in the wind & rain. As is always the case I will bask in my little achievements, even if they are nothing like Grant's epic ride

Nice effort Bruce :) I am more of a broken wreck today than I usually am but managed a recovery loop on the 650b tourer and then cleaned the roubaix. I was surprised to see that surface rust was already forming on the chain and cassette, think I'm going to start using a different lube, especially if my weather luck holds out.

@sblack, the headwind wasn't so bad in the park section and overall I don't think it was as bad as last months ride out to Greenwell Point, definitely wetter though.
