Hi everyone, it seems I am being a self indulgent forum member again.. Haven't been on for a few weeks. had stuff goin on like too much work, and my wedding, and nowhere near enough riding!!
I've lost track of km's and meters climbed during feb and march, but here's where I stand ytd (no rides in April yet)
1779km's
32882 mtrs climbed
44 rides
Hope to get back on top of it in April, and to be a bit more active on here!

Keep up the good riding everyone!

Welcome back oldnewby, hope you had a good wedding and honeymoon.

macca33, well done on the big March macca33, best of luck for the Murray to Moyne and 1000km April.

find_bruce, top effort, that's a long way/time to be towing up a hill. How was the brakes on the way back down?

grantw, well done on such a huge month. As for my segment, it would be interesting to see how the local A grade segment hunters go on it.

My March finished off as my shortest in around two years with 443.1km but I still managed to get the climbing in with a total of 7029m, passing the 6999m mark with about 1 hour left in the month. I'm actually a bit suprised at being further ahead of the climbing triangle than the distance one. It's a much steeper year so far this year.

cheers sblack, wedding went fantastically well, had 4 days off after it - real honeymoon will be mid year.
Had my first April ride tonight, hoping it pushes me back into more regular weekday riding!

Well done on the climbing too sblack, keep up the good work.

Thanks Mr Black (and others), I'm gonna give April a decent crack.

Weather is looking good for M2M - touch wood - for the overnight sojourn.

cheers

I was aiming for a 200km today but found my bottom bracket was bodgy as I climbed up Macquarie Pass so I stopped and had a Pie at Robertson and turned for home via the bike shop. Looking at the radar just now, I'm glad I did as the route is librerally covered in heavy rain just where I would have been :) .

The BB's all fixed now so I am hoping to get out for a longer one tomorrow to round up the week.

Gee Grant I thought I had come up with every excuse in the book for eating, but my bottom bracket was dodgy so I had a pie ?.

Mind if I borrow it "Hi honey I was going for a 200km ride but my chain was a bit squeaky so I stopped at the pub for a beer"

Of course it would only be credibile if I actually had done a 200 km ride at some point in my life :D :D :D :D

I managed to ride 355km for the Murray to Moyne, so may hit a thousand for April. Not yet home, so dunno what I'm up to thus far.

Grant, shame about the bottom bracket calling your ride short, how'd the Sunday attempt go at getting the longer ride in?

macca33, welll done on the Murray to Moyne. That 1000km is looking achievable.

Not so good Shane, I appear to have contracted manflu following the various soakings during the week so I'm in sook mode now for a few days :) .

finally cracked 2k over the weekend. Just have to do that two more times and I will hit my 6k goal! I've signed up for a 700km charity ride in September which will help. 8)

Could I possibly be 23.7km ahead of that gauntlet wielding David S. ?

That's not good Grant. I'm hoping you haven't coped the same one I have. I think I'm getting over round 3 at the moment, proving rather difficult to shake properly, even with good doses of rest. Each dose costs at least a week of riding, lucky I had a good start to the year to keep me ahead of target with the breaks.

You must have the same as me Shane. 2 rounds and I still can't shake the phlegm after 3 weeks. I can ride and feel generally ok now but still coughing up crap. No runny nose or fever though.

I reckon I'll live - bit of a fever, nagging headache and general aches and pains and lack of energy so far. All pretty low grade symptoms which indicate rest and vitamin C.

That sounds like it Dave. I'm back to the ride and generally ok but coughing up phlegm stage again. Although riding is only moderate effort as any time I push it the rate off coughing ups dramatically.

Sorry to hear you have the flu type virus prevalent down south. Hopefully you shake it off and get back to your normal selves.

I have been fortunate to stay healthy so far this year (touch wood) and kept a week or so ahead of target.

Had my brother visit from Vic last week and introduced him to a road bike (He is an avid hard-tail mtb rider) and he was surprised how much he enjoyed it. Managed to hire a good quality specialised which helped. We had a couple of rides together which was enjoyable.

Good to have the signatures back.

Cheers

Too late to join the club?

Spent the past week playing around with Strava, Velo Viewer and took a while to find the siganature thingy which I think I've now managed to setup.

Only started using Strava mid Jan so I've got a few more rides from the beginning of the year which aren't recorded there.

Welcome aboard Gary.

As for your missing rides in Strava, you can upload a GPX file if you have the rides somewhere that it's an option to export as a GPX or alternatively you can manually add rides as well.

the rides are captured using Cyclemeter whhich has the ability to export GPX files. Let me spend some time seeing how I can upload them into Strava.
