Grrrr.
+1=10

Got an email from a friend at work who went for a ride at lunch:
FYI - your front tyre is flat at the bottom
I can't find a thing wrong with the tyre but found the hole in the tube.

That's 10 flats for 3000-odd km. 1 flat per 300km. It's getting silly, I think!

Number 3 yesterday, slow puncture in the rain. I dislike flats in the rain, not for the fact that I have to stop and fix it, it's all the dirt and muck you get on your hands. Oh well, I' doing a lot better then I did last year.

+1 = 5, Hung the bike up last night went to the shed this morning and found a fairy pube embedded in my rear wheel. Must have picked it up in the dark on the way home on Wed night.

Well I am now top of the table with 13.

Managed to pull three fairy pubes out of the tire on Tuesday for one flat and got another this morning. Rear tire is starting to look like it's been in a knife fight.

Going to replace both over the weekend

*sigh*

+1, 13 on Saturday.

70km in drizzle / rain and occasional sun, only to get a cut in the rear about 5km from home. It only just nicked the tube, I was riding along for a few hundred metres trying to work out if it was going soft or not when it became pretty obvious it was going flat. I then took the time to remove several beer bottles worth of glass before patching it and sticking a new tube in. A good day apart from the puncture.

Cold morning in the middle of nowhere when I was in a hurry. Thinking the front was a slow leak I simply pumped it up but only got about 2k and had to stop to change it. Couldn't find anything causing it, new tube, on my way. 3k later it went down suddenly. This time I found the cause, a tiny piece of glass :( Needless to say I was late...

Got a piece of glass through my Marathon Plus today.

I thought these were supposed to be the awesome puncture proof tyres. Only done 500kms on it :(

3 for the year now.

From what I've heard none of the puncture proof tyres of any brand/make will protect you if the piece of glass/whatever hits the tyre in just the right spot.

That being said of the only two punctures I've got in the 3000kms I've done on them - one was a nail right through the dead centre of the tyre tread (straight through the kevlar) and I have no idea about the other but it could have been caused from me not picking out the stones and glass that are (still  ) embedded in my puncture proof tyres.

must be a chunky piece of glass to get through them, or as summer said, hit at the right angle

Yeah it was a fairly large triangle piece. I will patch the inside of the tyre then put it back on tubeless.

They are not immune. The wrong piece of glass in the wrong spot will still get you. I have had one glass lancing on my SMP tyres, and the remainder have been full skewering with nails or building tacks.

Front wheel on the fixie again and I couldn't find the root cause. Rather than muck around, I'll put a new tyre on, have a few knocking around

He he, I've avoided a puncture. Found a cut with the tube sticking out so I reduced the air pressure and rode it home. At home I removed the tyre and put a mini patch on the inside of the tyre.

Tube survived but I just wrote off the rear tyre because of some prick decided to merge and stop just past the intersection across the bike lane just as I was going through the middle of the intersection at ~55kph.

+2, 15. One last week (sliver of metal in the rear) and a tiny, tiny piece of glass in the front over the last couple of days which has caused me to pump it up once a day. I finally cracked and fixed it tonight.

LOL! Rule 2 if they are not trying to kill you, they will do it accidently.

Puncture 1 - front wheel Tuesday night coming home. Its got a brand new tyre on it. Cause was something sharp, but wasn't in the tyre when I changed it. Put a patch on the tyre over the small hole as a precaution.

Puncture 2 - rear wheel Wednesday morning coming home. Similar to Tuesday night. This time I patched the tube rather than replace it, as I was down to one tube.

Puncture 3 - rear wheel again Wednesday evening going to the gym. Pinch flat. I'm in a hurry so I put my last tube in and scurry to the gym, only just making the class. Ride home with no spares at all. Feel naked without a tube in my bag.

That night I patched 7 tubes, with the mini patches. Pinch flats required 2 or more patches. All except one stayed up overnight.

Puncture 1 - rear wheel not far from home. Intrusion but I can't find an object

Puncture 2 - rear wheel about 1k later. Intrusion, but I still can't find an object

Puncture 3 - rear wheel about 3k later. This time I'm completely out of tubes and I've ran out of time, ride the last 4k to the gym on a flat tyre.

After the class I put glue on the 2 tubes in my bag and then remove the 3rd one, expecting to locate the intrusion and fix it once and for all. But its a pinch flat.

Real careful inspection of the rim, rim tape and tyre bring up nothing. As a precaution I put a patch on one small hole.

Put the patched tube in and pump it up. It fails while being pumped up. I pull it out and its a patch failure, but not the patch I just put on, an existing one.

Put the other tube in and ride home, taking it easy. I'm down to 2 patches and no tubes. Make it home without drama. One hour later its still holding good.

The mysterious cafe flat - after 60 odd km the other morning, was getting ready to head home, looked at bike, bike looked at me and went pffffffft.

Sliver of glass in sidewall it seems.

Well that's 14 :'(

Small piece of glass that I must have missed worked it's way through to a slow leak while out riding with my son.

We'll at least he got his first lesson on how to change a tire
