I guess this means Winston does not approve the final results of the hour record then.

I believe that the hour record Sam Whittingham set was in a 27kg bike. It was only 90km/hr after all

winstonw wrote: what Alex!!!???? you base your absolutist weight vs aero statements on "a couple of charts pertaining to a particular scenario"....
I look forward to your charts evolving to accommodate real world scenarios integrating variable yaw and velocity, as do Enve's.

If your best defense of your stance is that all wheel manufacturers' R&D is smoke and mirrors marketing hype, then put the challenge out to all of their guys that your grasp on aero vs weight is better informed.
I've lost track as to which side of the argument you are on.

Are you aware that aero wheels actually improve performance more in most wind yaw conditions? The effect varies depending on the specifics of angle and wheel brand, but at some yaw angles the very best wheels will actually have negative drag; ie, they act like sails on a sailing boat and push you forward.

Pfft science.

What would science know. Its biggest flaw is it tells us the earth was created over a long period of time and that mankind evolved from other animals.

We all know earth was created in a week.

^^^ I don't think winstow could possibly be compared to a religious person. Things like creation can't be tested empirically, but aero wheels certainly can. Might have drawn a bow too long on this one?

Alright you heard the man, no more discussing aero vs weight, and absolutely no-one is to mention 29ers.

Is Campy lighter than Shimano or more aero? Or is Eurocool also a factor?

Alex, if a wheel manufacturer omitted variable wind yaw and velocity, like your charts, they'd only make solid aero disks of "however many kgs Alex decrees".
The reason manufacturers make non solid aero wheels, and the UCI regulations are the way they are, is because solid disks don't handle variable yaw and velocity well.

Keep priming the gallery...

I think this could be the new direction of the thread.

I believe the Germans arent concerned with putting their hands up for their part in WWII. Certainly from my perspective as a visitor, they weren't pretending it didnt happen in a bizarre attempt to shirk moral responsibility. They probably wouldnt instigate a lengthy discussion about it though.

In other news, Malcolm Turnbull could be Australias only hope....

Nope, no politics OR religion.

References to classic British comedy are welcomed. I bet you didn't expect that!
