Care of bike pathsThis has been lying for 10 days courtesy of some group that shared a park just opposite a bike path entry point. A bit sad.
I will now phone the council. ![]()
Re: Care of bike pathsThanks lump_a_charcoal,
I don't have a mobile phone that has internet enabled, but I Will email the council through my computer. This is the result of the swollen Dandenong creek at Heatherton Rd Dandenong .I can understand the reeds and weeds getting stuck, but the amount of soft drink bottles and plastic is mind boggling. The left hand side tunnel is the cyclist access. ![]()
Re: Care of bike paths
Oh the plastics in our environment is a well-known and tragic disaster looming - for the wildlife currently, and all of us in the long run Riding bikes in traffic - what seems dangerous is usually safe; what seems safe is often more dangerous.
Re: Care of bike pathsThanks mate, Honestly my wife and I couldn't watch it to the end, just too awful what happens to the poor wildlife.
And that is out in the middle of nowhere. I sent an email to our local council. Sort of makes me want to get a phone just to report this stuff, and maybe catch people with a pic as well. I heard Aldi may be coming onto the market with some thing fairly cheap.
Re: Care of bike pathsProbably nothing uncommon but this bit of path at the Tirhatuan park area is a bit of a bike wheel trap. I will have to find who looks after this area and email the pics. Not sure but it may be Dandenong.

Re: Care of bike pathsIf I recall it correctly that'd be the clay levee of the flood retarding basin. Cracked up due to our recent prolonged drought. Not an easy fix I'd guess and a sad legacy of our drying climate.
Re: Care of bike pathsHi il padrone ,
Probably is a clay base there, It is between the toilet block bridge and a small jetty at a pond, I am travelling east toward the jetty. I reckon you are right in picking it as ground movement though and it may come good with a bit of rain. Just not a good thing for a front wheel at the moment.
Re: Care of bike pathsI thought I was looking at pics of a third world country but then realised it was Australia. Some people are pigs, it's a simple as that.
