I did start the topic as a serious question.Just didnt know it would snowball onto this.

Im going to look into them road ID braclets, but a copy of my drivers lic will do for the moment.

I just had a flick though this thread.

I wear a "Road ID" dog tag style necklace when i ride, everytime. In fact I just wear it ALL the time. I dont have any misconceptions that it will in some way, save my life

The idea of carying such info on your person is so that they know who to call when you are injured/ un consious or where to send the body when they scrape you off the road.

The phone is a good source of info, but not much good if it has been flung into the bushes on impact or smashed to pieces when you hit the bitumen.

For about $30 it is just good for peace of mind.

Riding blindfolded, drunk, wrong way in traffic - that's living life on the edge.

Not carrying ID just makes it harder for others to work out who you were when you fall over it.

Wear it every time I run or ride.

So do I, with my name, address and year of birth, my wife's name and number, allergy details, an the fact that I have no significant medical or surgical history. It's a neat silicone wrist band with a watch clasp, but other designs are available from roadid.com
