Experience in Edge carbon / alloy wheelset

Postby masa » Fri Mar 29, 2013 12:49 am

I am planning to get an affordable carbon / alloy wheelset and saw this one from Cyclingdeal. Anyone has used this before and like to share their experience? On second look, the total weight is approx 2.1kg.

I have a pair and have been using for a number of years without any problems. I wouldn't pay $600 for them however. Have a look on planet-x bikes form some full carbon ones perhaps if you aren't fixed on carbon/alloy wheels.

hmmm 600 bucks for 50mm wheels they are cheap but bit heavy ...

My take is;
1. If your racing get tubulars
2. If your riding up proper mountains go light ( and don't get cheap full carbon clinchers)
3. If you ride for pleasure /exercise get whatever you fancy and can afford, but refer to point 2.

They are sold out but there's something similar on torpedo 7 atm

I'd have a look at somewhere like this http://www.shop-yishunbike.com/wheels/carbon-road-wheels

Fair bit cheaper, but again full carbon

Thanks for the info. I have checked T7 and, to my surprise, the NESS 55mm carbon wheelset (1.6kg) is at drop bottom price of five hundred bucks.http://www.torpedo7.com.au/products/N6WHSNNC5/title/ness-55-55-full-carbon-clincher-road-wheelset But the warranty period is not specified :roll: Has anyone heard of any good/bad feedback?
