Big reward for froome
Postby gorilla monsoon » Tue Jul 23, 2013 11:10 am
The car is dark green (or maybe black) with a broad yellow stripe over the nose and bonnet.
I'd like to say "lucky bugger" but he worked hard for it.

With the pay he's on he would be able to buy something much nicer than that.gorilla monsoon wrote:Christopher Froome's Sky team is sponsored by Jaguar Cars, which also supplies the team cars (Jaguar Sportbrake station wagons) for TdF. Kinda feel sorry for him.

It's not the 80's any more, Jaguar have fewer warranty claims than Volkswagon....Dimis wrote:I hope he packs his bike in the back...

Most likely British Racing Green, a thousand different shades depending on the way the light hits it. It's lovely.gorilla monsoon wrote:The car is dark green (or maybe black) with a broad yellow stripe over the nose and bonnet.

+1 on earning it.

has a pic of Froome, their words "striking image". I simply looked at it and thought, so thats where kids get the idea for stick people.
It just amazes me how people with basically skin around their skeletal structure can produce so much power and speed for such a long time. And please dont get me wrong, I am not trying to say anything about PED's or such...not even trying to go there. He looks as if he would be hard pressed to lift a wet paper bag.
And will he get a knight hood???

That's because no-one buys them. HahaDavidI wrote:It's not the 80's any more, Jaguar have fewer warranty claims than Volkswagon....Dimis wrote:I hope he packs his bike in the back...
Those Jags are almost guaranteed to break down sooner or later.
Easy to have ZERO warranty claims when no ones buying or driving the product.
I wonder what the ratio of ownership is 100 Volkswagen sales to 1?
Did you by chance fork out for a jag and are now regretting your purchase and trying to defend it?
Don't worry, at least you'll look cool broken down on the side of the road. Haha
Just taking the piss. :p

But the advertising on SBS made me believe skoda supplies all the cars for the TDF, have they been lying to me?gorilla monsoon wrote:Christopher Froome's Sky team is sponsored by Jaguar Cars, which also supplies the team cars (Jaguar Sportbrake station wagons) for TdF. Skoda supplies all the Official cars (commissaires, neutral support, race doctor etc), teams usually have their own supplier, Citroens, Peugeots and Mercedes have traditionally been favoured due to their having a large (by euro standards) station wagon in their range.Undertow wrote:But the advertising on SBS made me believe skoda supplies all the cars for the TDF, have they been lying to me?gorilla monsoon wrote:Christopher Froome's Sky team is sponsored by Jaguar Cars, which also supplies the team cars (Jaguar Sportbrake station wagons) for TdF. Actually they've been on the up (sales and quality wise) ever since Ford bought them years ago.....to add to your conpiracy theory, my daily driver is a Focus.....Dimis wrote:That's because no-one buys them. ... to Tata Motors, of India.
What could possibly go wrong with a car built in England, to Indian corporate standards?
I'd be insulted if I was Froome, to be given the V6 model instead of the V8. Sure, there's not much of him to move around, but if you're going to give somebody a luxury sports car, then at least you can give them the sporting model...

Yes, I agree. 250 kilowatts is not nearly enough.barefoot wrote:I'd be insulted if I was Froome, to be given the V6 model instead of the V8. Sure, there's not much of him to move around, but if you're going to give somebody a luxury sports car, then at least you can give them the sporting model...

So, will Froome get a knighthood this year like Wiggo did last year?

So Johnny Hoogerland could have a scar in the shape of a Skoda logo?

Wiggo won the olympics too and became the UK's most successful Olympian last year so I wouldn't automatically assume Froomedog will become a Sir this year.gorilla monsoon wrote:Yes, I agree. 250 kilowatts is not nearly enough.barefoot wrote:I'd be insulted if I was Froome, to be given the V6 model instead of the V8. If I was Froome I would be demanding that an Olympics be held again this year then to ensure the knighthood hahaha...how ripped off would you feel, just because an Olympics was held and that the same year you didnt win the Tour simply because of team orders despite being able toodjw47 wrote:Wiggo won the olympics too and became the UK's most successful Olympian last year so I wouldn't automatically assume Froomedog will become a Sir this year.gorilla monsoon wrote:
