Like a few others I have no idea why I missed this thread, and can only apologise for the belated “Hope you recover fast and get full function back in the ribs and shoulder to go back riding soonest”

At the risk of getting shot down in flames I know for certain from a large number of extensive animal experiments I did with for human use pulsed magnetic field injury treatment units that this does reduce bone healing time by at least one third, and may be worth investigating in your case as you have no metal plates or screws embedded in the bone to cause problems with that type of therapy.

Cheers,
Tom

So the truck driver saw you. And it didn't occur to him to change lanes.

I'm just speechless.

Only in Australia.

Hi guys, a bit over a year since my accident, and I have an update.

The insurer for the truck driver has admitted 100% liability.

Will update more info later.

Hi Briztoon,
  1. I am sad you got hit by a truck but happy you lived to tel the tail
  2. Am glad the insurance company has admitted liability
  3. Will be even gladder when they actually get around to paying you
  4. Above all, am happy you are out and about riding

Cheers

Good to hear. Concur 100% with Bruce.

Can't believe a reasonable person/organisation would have dragged it out so long in such a cut and dried situation.

Hope you have a good lawyer. I suspect this is just the start of a confrontational relationship.

It is appalling that it took this long. Surely if you were a car they would not have taken so long.

It took them one year for this???

So on top of being whacked by a truck you were ultimately screwed around for one year while they decided who was to blame.

I hope there's additions compensation on top for this. Like others have said, if it was a car accident it would've been sorted in a week.

can you let us know if the driver was charged with anything - and did he lose his licence for a substantial period of time...?

what has his workplace done to improve the driving skills of their staff...?
