Fixing a Strava activity

Postby lobstermash » Thu Aug 29, 2013 8:40 am

Is there a way to fix a Strava entry that goes awry? I use Strava to keep track of my km. This morning Strava added an 80km pre-ride flight from somewhere out near Goulburn to my house.

Upload it to something like Garmin Connect - download as a TCX and then edit the TCX with Dreamweaver or another XML editor. Remove the incorrect fixes from the file. Save and upload.

I had one go wrong to the tune of 5500km and 3300km/h average speed.

Never mind, found the crop feature. Removed the first km of my actual ride... But better than having the extra distance on there!

You can download the file from strava as a .tcx file then edit and save in Notepad. since it seems it's within the first kilometre it shouldn't be hard to find the offending entry.

I did just that with one of my rides that had me some distance off the coast of Spain. was a bit harder for me as the point was somewhere near the middle (ish) of an 83km ride.

Ah, so you've been to see Contador's butcher.

C'mon, spill it ;)
