...and off to the right of the pic are some great big concrete barriers preventing vehicles from being in a position that a cyclist might need to give way.

In the light of recent deaths of cyclists, including a bike club friend killed on the open road I was appalled.
I spoke to a baker, calling it offensive for cyclists including my deceased friend.
Soon after I left they removed the sign.

Report it in Head Office contact email and include the pic and state of which suburb is it in.
Don`t let them get away with it as a joke. It is a serious matter. I`d boycott that store.

Grab a stick of chalk and go change it to something like: "If you see a Dandenong supporter heading off to a football match, why shouldn't you go and rape his wife and murder his family."
Haha, yeah I'm sure that will go down with the good humour it was indented with. And wow, just image how much funnier that would be if there actually had been a recent spate of such crime in the area. Absolutely hilarious. (NOT!)

Maybe they weren't thinking of a bicycle as "traffic"

Trucks have used the nature strip as a road and the don't mind dragging all the crap onto the bike lane.
And guess what? It is a contractor working for Vic Roads.
How about the safety angle, and the respect for cyclists slipping over in the alleged bike lane. You might as well not call it a bike lane if it is used by trucks.
The bike sign covered in mud is a clue to their due diligence.
A car driver can now claim he didn't see the sign.

This sign reminds me of a new bit of bitumen on Buderim that nearly caught me out.fatherofmany wrote:
There's some lovely new tar leading into a corner, but just before the corner, it stops and there's a small 10-20mm drop off to the old road. Problem is.... the new bitumen invites speed, but when you go over the un-obvious drop off, you lose all grip on the corner, which is then right on you.... But luckily i escaped. And it happened to me twice.
