At Bareges on the Col du Tourmalet - Laurent Fignon Way
Taking advantage of the creation of a new road to climb the Col du Tourmalet (Barèges side), the General Council of the Hautes-Pyrénées and the city of Barèges decided to dedicate to cyclists, the old access road which saw the pass Tour de France from 1910. Thus, 2.4 km and 200 m of positive elevation are exclusively reserved for cyclists.

The photos in your last 2 posts aren't showing, and I'd love to see them. I hired a bike from Velo Peloton last year, a very nice LaPierre road bike. Where are you staying, just out of interest? I'll be visiting the Pyrénées again in September, and I'm counting down the days...Sharkey wrote:At Bareges on the Col du Tourmalet - Laurent Fignon Way

I think I have fixed the photos by moving them to a shared album in Google Photos. Let me know if they are working.Cyclophiliac wrote:The photos in your last 2 posts aren't showing, and I'd love to see them. I stayed in Lourdes for 5 nights and did a couple of rides on the last 2 days. Hired a La Pierre FDJ edition from Paddy at Velo Peleton and did Col des Borderes, Col du Soulor and Col d'Aubisque (the last climbs of this year's Tour) one day and Lourdes - Luz Ardiden via Viscos - Col du Tourmalet the next. That wasa big ride, 81km and 3,600m climbing.
I am in Carcassonne now. Sunday's Tour stage finishes here and Monday is a rest day.

I'll be in Saint-Savin (not far south of Argeles-Gazost) for 13 days riding, and in Bertren for 15 days riding before that, so I'll have heaps of time to ride some good cols. Wherer exactly is the turnoff to the Voie Laurent Fignon? I might give it a go on one of my Col du Tourmalet rides while over there.
Actually, is the Voie Laurent Fignon the same road that currently shows on Google Maps as Touét et Labach? I had decided to ride up that way on my next climb up the west side of Col du Tourmalet.

Whilst exploring the streets of Paris in July 2018 we occasionally came across some cycling related infrastructure.

I think it's warning cyclists of the danger of riding with the handlebars loose. (The front wheel is at right angles to the handlebars.)LateStarter wrote:Cancan64, what is your fork?cancan64 wrote:Spotted this on the weekend in Rotorua...
