Count me in. Only really got back on the bike late this year, knocking over about 1500kms since July. 6k seems like a good target for 2014!

Just fell short of 6k this year (5845km) which included some reduced / missed rides due to injury and illness late April to July. Lets try and hit 7k this year.

I'm in. after some unfortunate mishap involving a car, I managed to rack up almost 3000km since July 1. with a bit more commitment, 6000km seems like a good target at the moment

Thanks Grant for kicking this thread off as home for the 6K Club in 2014.

In 2012 I had a goal of 6000k which was achieved and in 2013 I upped it by 10% to 6600k and after a struggle managed to achieve it in the dying days of the year.
Will try for 6999 in 2014 not a big increase but one gets older each year :(

I am going for 10000km... although with the project that I am working on finishing in 2014 this will be subject to where ever the next project is... Wife wants to go back to the middle East and it's a bit hard to cycle there

I'm aiming for 8k in 2014, looking forward to a bit of traveling and trekking plus some bicycle touring at a leisurely pace which will dent the odometer a bit. I'll be signing up for the usual Audax silliness though with a super series and maybe Perth Albany Perth in October. See how we go :-)

I'm in again - unsure what I'll get in 2014.

Probably more than 2013. Let's see. I won't be signing up for any racing - that will end badly if I did.

Hoping to kick things off tomorrow early.

Does anyone know if the whatsbeef site thing still works for getting your km's to come up in the signature? I used the instructions from here.

Okay, time to join. Didn't think I could do it last year, but managed over 6500km excluding the trainer. So let's go for 6999km! And yes, while veloviewer is a stat geek's dream, the cycling target thingy was good until it went belly up in July last year. Would love to get the new link.

Happy (and safe) riding out there everyone!

I am in again: 6000km and 60,000m targets for 2014.

Same as last year, made the distance with 2 days to go and elevation with 5 hours to spare (made me late for the neighbour's NYE party). Perhaps I could aim to get there earlier this year?

Happy (and safe) riding everyone.

Can someone give some advice on how to get the signature going? I believe whatsbeef site doesn't work anymore. I tried the stat geek link and once I got in the page was full of errors. Once logged out and trying to log back in I had a small message pop up that said my account was locked. One of my mates tried and same thing. Error messages and then locked.

Not sure about those ones, but it might be simpler to try Veloviewer at http://veloviewer.com/ (tips at http://www.bicycles.net.au/forums/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=56254), now that it is working again. It gets your ride data from Strava, when you give it your rider number. Look in the "Signature image" tab, which gives a preview when you make changes.

Thanks Marto. I don't have strava currently as I don't have GPS yet. Maybe I can enter manually into strava like you would into Bike Journal and go from there.

That could be the go, and will make any transition to GPS recorded rides easier, but check out Bikejournal via the search function on these forums also.

Re: 6K Club - 2014

Postby macca33 » Wed Jan 01, 2014 10:07 am

Last year, I started off looking at 6k and managed to exceed my expectations somewhat - 13,435Km ridden + 89,777m climbing for my first full year of cycling. Whilst I'd like to emulate past performances, I'll still be keeping en eye on the 6k target, to ensure that I am on track throughout the year.

There were some fantastic results achieved by a lot of people in 2013 - particularly those who suffered injury/illness - and the positive attitudes expressed throughout the thread (and the 10k thread), really served to motivate me, so keep it up.

Good riding to all of you.

cheers

So Veloviewer isn't taking notice of my 64km ride this morning.. How nice... I had a few very nice Strava segments. And if it weren't for the glass half way along that made me stop and check the tyres, I'd have set a lot more PRs. :)
