10K Plus Club - 2014

Postby singlespeedscott » Wed Jan 01, 2014 7:39 am

Well since I no one else seems to have set one up I'll kick it in the guts and declare to all an sundry that my goal for the year is to ride more than 10000km.

I fell short by 560km this year but given that the goal was 6000km I'm pretty happy with that.

How many km's of riding have the rest of you set as goal for the year? I would suggest the good old Veloviewer signature so we can see how everyone is going every time they post.

I did 12,500 in 2012 and had to really work hard at the last minute to crack 10,000 in 2013.
My goal for 2014 is to be a lot more consistent which means I could get up to 14,000 - maybe!

I managed 13,435Km ridden + 89,777m climbing for my first full year of cycling, so would love to improve upon this effort. We'll see how it goes.

Good luck to all.

cheers

I'm gonna try for 10,000km. Should be achievable but its all about consistency for me.
Started with a nice little 34km loop to kurnell and around cronulla this morning.

After smashing my goal of 6,000km last year by cracking the 10,000km mark. I'm aiming a bit higher and hoping for 12,000km. I'll be taking a few weeks off for a holiday towards the end of the year so I'll need to ensure I'm cracking the 300km totals a week pretty regularly!

I'll be in here somewhere. Don't think I'll do as many as 2013. Will be going for a bit more climbing at this stage

Had a quick bit of maths and aiming for just 10K this year, assuming not much commuting. Imperial century once every 2-3 weeks, plus 200 on those other weeks comes to around 10K, give or take. Hoping a lot of those KMs will be at FTP though!!

I'll have a shot at 10,000 this year. I should get there at my current rate since April.

I'm shooting for 10k this year. A quick calculation of my commuting km sees about 85% of that on commutes and the rest will be family and social rides. Kicked it off with 39km of towing my 6 year old on the tag-a-long to go fishing...

This will the first full year of keeping track of kms ridden. How does one get one of those fancy progress bars?

2012: 6.3k
2013: 15.3k
2014: Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........................... Would 20-25k be pushing it? :P Haha. Nah. 17K should be a good total.

14-15K is my aim this year- since I have over 7K for 6 months this year (since I entered Garmin World) I just need to be consistent.

I'm setting myself a target of 12500 km this year.

I'd like to go past this but I'm not going to get too greedy just yet! :D

Shooting for 10k this year but might be a little ambitious given I don't commute.

Consistency!

Yep, 10,000 km is my goal this year. It will be my first full year and I feel I am starting with some good momentum on the back of 2013. Now if I can just get Strava to fix the glitch that recorded my 106 km ride as an 86 km ride yesterday I would be very happy indeed :D

again?!

i'm in for 10k this year. i can do that 'easily' enough, but i'm leaving room for more targeted training which may reduce my km.

Should clarify, I want 10,000km on strava. I'll need to get into the habit of wearing (and charging) the watch.
Not having the watch won't stop me from riding/training but I cbf keeping track of different bikes etc so I'm only counting strava km.

Kicked off with a 100k'er this morning and it was blardy cold - sun eventually shone through, about 10k's before the end!!!

Hoping for a big January to get the year well underway.

cheers

Might as well, this year was hard because I did a lot of shorter/faster hitouts under 70 kms.
