@g-boaf.. That is some great work buddy and when unwell it makes it more impressive

After todays effort http://www.strava.com/activities/158003259" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; it pushes me over the 10,000 marker, I was robbed today with my Garmin running out of juice so it should be 333 k's not the recored 285.6 k's. Still pretty happy knocking out the ride in the middle of winter with some hectic headwinds.
It also moved me above 150,000 vertical so right on track for my years goal of 20,000 k's and 300,000 vert :D

Ah so that's you stryder! Well done mate smashing ride. I reckon I'll fail to get the June GF 130 in this month - illness, other activities and a failure to comply with Rule #5 have all combined to defeat me! Hahaha

G-boaf - it's good to see you keep on truckin thru it!

Wow cripes that's some big kilometres and elevation! Way to go! 8)

I'm starting to get back to the way I should be after being hit by those twin cold viruses in as many months. Some flat out riding will sort out the rest.

Macca33: Thanks mate. :)

I'm now in the 10k club :D, onward to 20k. I narrowly missed my target but I'm probably going to start racking more kms per week, starting this week with a couple of club training sessions before work.

I gave up even hitting 10K 2 months ago. So much for that goal. Hopefully will get faster after base period is done though!

Great work all - keep it up. Winter is here, so too many trainer sessions and not enough outside for me - but we'll get there!

cheers

I stopped recording my rides at the end of May, but should still be well and truly on track for 10k. Getting a 510 in the next week or so to get the tally ticking over again.

Like others I am getting put off by the winter weather here in Melbourne. I've had to re-adjust my goals - down from 20,000km to 19,000 or even 18,000 km - as I am just not keeping up in this cold wet and windy weather. Plus the lure of sitting up to watch an amazing TdF.....

Guess we are all different but if winters done anything it's fired me up, knocked out 2 centuries in 5 days and another 70 k ride in that period and over 7500 vert, love the quiter roads in winter. With my next Everest attempt coming up in 11 days I should log at least 1600 k's for July.
Yearly total to date is 10,650 so well on track for the 20,000 barring bad luck

I'm also in melb and keep the hrs ticking over through winter. However, I basically give up going to the hills and simply stick mostly to cyclepaths. Doing way more hrs on the flatbar thingo at the moment rather than roadbike.. It's something I really enjoy, although 3 or 4 hrs a day on the cycle paths can get a bit monotonous, always with the same northerly blowing. Hrs stay up, but mileage gets a little lower, and vertical become really low compared go up the hills. Tracking for about 32K at the moment, but may drop a bit yet :)

500km behind atm (target 40km/day). First time I've been properly sick in about 5 years :-(. Elevation is still ahead though :-) (500m gain/day)

Passed 9K this morning being towed - very quickly - along Beach Rd courtesy of the Becoz crew!

Looking forward to the CCCC Hcap (100Km) at Modella this Saturday - it'll be quick!

Keep up the good work all.

cheers

The weather doesn't look too bad at this stage - possibility of rain and light winds!

did you ride? i was in the 15 min group with Hawthorn jersey.

i'm on track for 15k this year. happy as i've lifted the intensity a bit from last year with more structured training, which makes it a bit harder to maintain the same volume of km.

Yes mate - limit rider - we were caught at 70km. Unfortunately, I was dropped just past the corner at Tynong - touched a witches hat and slowed, then couldn't chase back on. We rode hard up until then in a bunch of 5 - only 3 rolling turns consistently. I'm hoping to go a little bit better on the 9th. I do recall you - tall and lean? I'll yell out next time.

Added this to the total yesterday; http://www.strava.com/athletes/3112945" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's been nearly 4 months since tearing the Achilles and still a long way to go.
It's scary how quickly and how much wasting occurs when one is laid up!
Might set my sights on 10k next year.

cheers
Bill

ps: Deon, the new rims roll nicely.
