Well 1 month into the year and I managed to clock just over 1000km for the month. I am pretty pleased with that, particularly when I only managed to get 1 ride in this week :(

Almost 1000km in January for me, I think it was 976km or something. Rolled over the 1000 mark today. Happy to be comfortably on track so far.

Clocked 17k last year. I'll be happy with 15 this year. Probably do a bit less on my hols.
I'm really lucky my long suffering family allow me the time to do as much as I do. Cycling can be a selfish pastime for the family man.
That said I hope it's counteracting some of the negative long term health effects of shift work. Keeps me almost sane too :)

10K Plus Club - 2014

Postby Squigs » Sun Feb 09, 2014 2:24 pm

1616km for January and I am currently sitting on 2095km for the year.

Reached just under 15k last year which had a few moths with not much riding. So hopefully will get over 17k for the year.

Tough start to the year. Stomach bug + broken derailleur hanger + a cold + crash = a lot of interruptions. Still managed 3700km so far but would have been happier with a bit more.

That's a heap of kms so far! I've got just over 2000km so far (1,634.2km for January). But 3700km - awesome! 8)

There are a lot of good distances been done already. I'm aiming at 13,500k again this year, was one good ride short of 14,000k last year.

Currently aiming/hoping for 1,000k per month minimum,on track at 2,000k's thus far. Best ever year was 19,200 (yes, worked and had young kids to look after lol) and whilst I'd love to top that,it won't be in 2014.

Perhaps next year.

Personally it's been a solid start with around 4500 kms and the 1% elevation I was aiming for. But then this morning I was reminded why I need to ride a lot in summer with a more typical melbourne monring - cool and breezy. To be honest it feels slightly cool, but ultimately I had few warm things on - one layer of thermals and "level 3" gloves (of 5 available levels), and no booty covers. In winter, when it often 5 degrees in the outer 'burbs and a cold breeze, then big daily miles become more uncomfy. So for now, every morning is a joy to be out :)

Not many people posting on this thread this year!
I've had a great 2 months but got some sort of Gastro bug on Tues night and have done little since. I'm just short of 3,500 km and hope to get back into it tomorrow morning.
How come so few post their kms in Bike Journal?

Well I am still ahead of the line but I am not helping it with no riding this week. Bloody night shift.

Blardy impressive mate - good job.

I've clicked over 3k and will keep on truckin' whenever I can.

Murray to Moyne next month, so should rack up about 350Km over the weekend.

cheers

I'm lagging at the moment after 3 weeks off the bike crook. Did the commute on Friday and 110km today so hopefully I can peg back the lost ground.

Personally I guess it would be a bit tedious, tend to pretty much ride every day (so far this year anyway), so pretty repetitive to report in

Different rides though I guess. Today I rode along some dirt trails, tomorrow somewhere else :)

5400+ already? Impressive!

I'm trying for a 500+km week - currently on track for it with 212km so far this week. Tonight I'm resting. I plan for 100km on Thursday night, and 100+100 on the weekend.

So far at 3400km for the year according to Strava. :)

Good work.

It is addictive isn't it!!! I started in Oct 2012 for fitness, managed 13.5k last year and am on par to reach that this year - all going to plan.

anttismo and thearthurdog - impressive to say the least (again!).

About 7000km so far this year. I cycle 100km/day and have never missed a day, except for those couple of days when i was hungover :D
To be honest I'd ride 200km/day if I had the time, but 3 hours in the saddle is about all I can afford.

I wonder how long my knees will last at this rate. 2 years going strong, but I wasnt doing as many km in the previous years. I'm hoping to keep it up for another 5 years at least.
