Heavy weights

Postby Rowley Runner » Sat Apr 05, 2014 2:15 pm

I just weighed my bike, a pashley and it clocked the scales at a impressive 23.3 kilos. Can anyone beat that for a standard bike? Trikes, recumbents and cargo bikes don't count.

I doubt it. But would be happily be proven wrong!

(Sure those things are cheap nasty and heavy! But there comes a point that making it heavier will cost MORE money and I think that would occur before 23kgs! A quick survey shows shipping weights of these duel suspension cheap 29" are generally 20kg!! Not far off, but not quite there either.)

My 90s Aussie Post 26"/24" wheeler must be up there will full integrated steel front basket & rear rack. I somehow doubt of course we're talking quality butted tubing here; more like load bearing structural piping.

Trying to work out how I can reliably weigh it. Me at 110kg standing on the bathroom scales would most certainly push past the scales limit of 130kg. *sigh... * Another piece of writing on the wall, telling me to lose weight.
