A couple of ideas.

Postby avroncotton » Tue Apr 08, 2014 6:31 pm

Been meaning to post for a while. A couple of ideas that I have had.

If you have been in an accident and smashed your lid, instead of throwing it away: Cut the straps off (so it cant be reused) and donate it to your local primary school. Most schools have a cycling education teacher and they can use your broken lid to reinforce to the next generation the benefits of riding with a helmet.

Also, just a tip I have used. If you have bikes in the shed that are only ridden once in a while, give them a clean then put the whole bike in an op-shop ($4) double doona cover. Tie the ends with a bit of old tube or string and no dust, dirt or cobwebs in the spokes...

At one stage Sydney Uni was collecting helmets that were in a crash for their research.

Don't fancy wrapping old bikes up in a floral doona cover.

I'm confused about the "bikes in the shed" comment. ;)
