can someone tell me why it is that track bikes dont have bar tape or any other form of grip?

I noticed this when the track racing was on tv too.

Also, there are a few track bars around that have a rough surface finish in the drops so that you don't need to run tape. That might've been what you saw on TV.

WOW you can do a bike fit just by looking at the Bike and with no idea what the rider on the bike looks like :? What do you make of this Pro fit custom built frame?

It was last year's model (2010) so it was heavily discounted. Prefer the 2010 Orca's over the 2011 Orca's anyway so i am more than happy :D

I know - its an amazing talent hey!?

A $7,000 bike isn't designed to run 20mm of spacers. Its a new bike so i'm guessing the rider is finding the 'sweet spot' first.

John Kennedy loves an upright position - his logic is good for touring and longer rides but not for flat out racing. His saddle and cleat positioning are spot on but not for the front end.

And if we are talking 'PRO" fits - have a look at the number of protour riders using 10mm spacers or any spacers at all.... pretty much none.

Just because he runs three spacers or so doesnt mean he is restricted to buying $1500 alloy bikes. Nice bike rider

Who cares? Why do you care if someone buys an expensive bike and puts a few spacers under their stem so they can ride it in comfort? It he/she is happy with their bike then good on them.
