Norbs, a couple of things you missed-the tyres are upside down.
For mine the correct rear gear to be in should have the rear mechs cage vertical.

Unsure of precise velo photo etiquete........ I was thinking along the lines of keeping top and bottom of chain equidistant?norbs wrote:Maybe a smaller cog on the back is the only issue I see. That is being picky though.
Curse Schwable HT tubulars, lettering upside down - at least I got the Campy decals just so............

Always tricky the tyres. I agree, the tyre manufacturer should be at the top, only because they have the model directly opposite. If there is only one decal on the tyre, I try and place it next to the valve to find it easier.
The rear cage is another open to debate. Some same vertical cage, others say smallest cog on the rear.
I reckon there is a blog post in this.
Dont feel bad Open Roader, this from me the other day.

Schwalbe will argue that Enve (and every other wheel maker) have thier decals upside down........
I see Baum have the R/D cage perfectly vertical.........

And to make sure it doesn't get too filthy; got the old man's Peugeot out and put an ultegra group set on it for training and now runs like a dream!

As a uni student I'd have been stretching to afford a trike. There's nothing unfortunate about only being able to afford a new Basso frame and old Record!OrangeJuiceMan wrote:Long time in the waiting but finally got my new Basso frame! Unfortunately being a uni student...

Man sweet bikes, i love the mix of classic and new age bike, im looking for an older bike to go with mine at the moment too.OrangeJuiceMan wrote:Long time in the waiting but finally got my new Basso frame! Unfortunately being a uni student an 11spd record groupy will have to wait , but till then the old record still does a mighty fine job. Went on its first ride this morning and was absolutely fantastic.

Yea its definitely worth it! The combination of a good quality steel frame and a modern reliable group set makes it beautiful to ride. Of course its a bit of a struggle in the hills, but that's when it makes you appreciate your lighter bikes even moreim looking for an older bike to go with mine at the moment too

Looks like a piece of crap compared to the other bikes on here but w/e :S
Picked it up for $150 off eBay (poor uni student ) earlier this year and I've been using it to commute the 30km to and from uni most days of the week.

On a side note, could anyone help me to determine its age? I'm guessing late 1980s?
