This is my restoration project. A diamondback Roaddie with microshift mini gruppo. The wheelset are not in pair as I just got them from eBay. The rear one is pretty good!

How do you like the microshift group? I think they look very cool (including some nice colours) and nearly went with it for my Teschner build.rheicel wrote:Sorry, re posting again.

Quite good.warren.suen wrote:How do you find the Campy Zonda's?kiwi73 wrote:My 2013 De Rosa Merak.

Very solid and smooth.
I ride pretty rough roads around Caboolture, QLD and they hold up well and have even taken a pretty hard hit from a big pot hole, and are still true.
Very happy with them so far.
Note they don't have the CULT bearings that the higher level of campy wheels do.

I've always wondered why carbon bikes are plastered with logos. Why not just a headtube badge and a couple of small decals.
Gotta impress the dudes with no taste I suppose, it's a race to the bottom!
Disclaimer: I ride a logo plastered Madone 5-series.

The Microshift group are not bad for their price. They do not have the option of full internal cable routing but they will surely complement any bike colour scheme as they offer many colour range.bianchi928 wrote:How do you like the microshift group? I only need to adjust them once after installation. They shift accurately, though the shift levers have some pretty long throw. You will get used to it after a couple of rides.
I now have more than 3000km on them.

How else would you differentiate them? Without those decals someone might mistake your shiny new de rosa for my much cheaper avantiboss wrote:I've always wondered why carbon bikes are plastered with logos. Why not just a headtube badge and a couple of small decals.
(don't worry, my avanti has only a couple of small dark grey on black decals and is never going to be mistaken for a high-end carbon road bike)

To be fair, the DeRosa Merak frame/fork only had the one logo.... and the wheels only had two. Change the wheels and it would be a different visual beast.Howzat wrote:...Or would be more the bike equivalent of this?
My Giant TCR has 'GIANT' written on it about 10 or more times.

7.4 Kgs, 59cm frame.
Always been a sucker for black bikes.
Interesting to see the weight.
People often bang on about how much lighter CF bikes are over steel or ti.
My 58cm ti Moots weighs 7.2kg as pictured here so very little difference (mind you my wheels weigh just over a kg for the pair).
Would be interesting to see the weight of yours minus wheels vs mine.

Lovely Moots but its a very expensive 7.4kg bike, you could buy something lighter in carbon for under 3 grand.(banging on)sumgy wrote:Nice bike.

Actually I have something on the way that I hope will blow 7.2kg out of the water.
But I may be disappointed with the weight.
Will be interesting to see.
