Which brand of (nicely matching) cables?

How do those scalloped Xentis brake tracks work for you?

Busy looking bike (pardon the pun) but I happen to like it.

The cables are Jagwire. I love the Xentis wheels, braking seems really strong (haven't tried in wet yet) and much better in strong winds than my previous Easton EC90s.
Yeah it is a busy bike, but I'm a bit of a fan of loud.

if your wondering what the **** has he got for a saddle its a brooksb17narrow . yes its 3 times the weight of the Zero pro that came with the bike, but my old bum and hips needed something special. the local riders have had a giggle, but not one has thought to ask how it rides.it took about 20kms to get comfortable, and now it simply flexes with my hips. If they did ask i would tell them its like sitting on the silken hand of an angel :D 250kms in and you just dont know its under you. best $125 Ive yet spent on wiggle

3 Lynskeys and a custom Ti. The Lynskeys are from left to right, my R230, Claire's new Helix, Mudi's Sportive and Rheicel's custom job on the right. The photo is around the 100km mark on yesterday's long ride.

I haven't hit 100km mark with this yet, but new cargo/winter commuter bike to 'take the load off' winter wear/dirt/mudguards on the similar but different Van Nicholas Amazon Rohloff commuter.

I like it! Close to what I would like for a Tweed Ride/gentle picnic cycle bike.

Thats an awesome bike!! Front basket, rear rack, mud guards, disk brakes,m single speed belt driven comfy seat. What more could you want?

Really really nice. Really practical and useful.

I'm not sure about the tires though.
What are those tires like? Rough? They might be really harsh to ride with right?

It is an 18mm rim (Alfine 8 speed) at limit for a 28c tyre, the 19mm rim on the Van Nicholas Amazon needed 32c solid tyre (has Thudbuster ST post, B17 Special seat), and i have a 23c solid on my Spinergy 13.5mm rims on the S-Works Roubaix cruiser (Zertz the harshness mitigation). All are lower profile/squarer than pneumatic equivalent sizes, and have comfier seat/bars than stock with OnOne Mary across most, so any change isn't a deal breaker. There are pros and cons, for my low traffic route with heaps of glass, coming from Schwalbe marathon plus in all sizes being defeated regularly, it is worth it over weekly punctures putting me off riding for any time critical days with work and kids. It is a liberating paradigm shift feeling invincible :D (except for the law, i got stopped and cautioned for the first time in 5 years of committed riding, but that is for another thread ;)

awesome - nothing wrong with an anachronistic saddle, whatever works best for you. I only have turbos and flites on my bikes

Looks pretty decent to me. :) And if the saddle works well, then so be it. Nothing worse than having a super light saddle that is so bad you can't stand it for more than 50km.

Now, as an alternative to those droolworthy Ti bikes above, here is what I went out on today into the CBD early this morning:

Image

We had my P5, a P3 and a Trek Speed Concept (out of picture at that point).

And before I headed back - stopped to take a look at this enormous ship:

But my God I bet they don't look anywhere near as butt ugly or out of place as that travesty pictured
You could have at least got a black saddle. Hit it with some boot polish or a hessian bag or something, anything. Cover it up. :P

Honestly who cares what your bike looks like. If you like it ride it. If some one else doesn't like your bike its their problem.

Thanks and yes I agree, but id have to change the cables coming off the bar to black also. Not sure what the cost would be though.

I also say just a change to black tape and the white cables would look well in place. Either that or change the saddle to white......

A very different look from Giant. :D
