Nice bike, and think you've made the right choice of bike to bring with.

Enjoy your time in Melb.

Cheers Mate, I'm quite chuffed with how it's come up.

It's a Project One Procaliber 9.8 SL, to give it it's full title. Not quite a lightweight race whippet, but it's not far off, more a marathon/all day epic kinda bike.

Sorry. Coming in late on this. Is that Hout Bay? I'm trying to figure out where you'd see Lion's Head from that angle.

Photo is from Chapman’s Peak looking north. Lions Head is pretty much straight in front of you, perhaps a bit to the right. Can’t see if for other hills in the way though.

Got my new roadie a couple of months ago after a bike theft from my garage...to say I am happy with the result is an understatement. The frame on this bike is wicked like a magic carpet yet punch the pedals and she responds instantly.

Bike is Merida Scultura Team 2017 (Dura Ace other than the Rotor cranks).

And shhh don't tell anyone but I am running flat pedals on my road bike #pedalinginnovations #midfoot

And with wintery bits...I can just fit Crud MKIII other than the front nose.

What, for purchasing of said tyres or just for comparisons?

Have found BikeBug to be well priced and stock a good range..

After picking up a new Trance, I now have an 'almost' matching set of Giants :)
One is fast on-road the other very fast off it!

Both just very bright. The trance almost has a bit of red in it but looks very orange in the sunlight.

Heres my current cruise about roadie that I picked up off a bloke in Munich for 350€. Its a 1986 (I believe) Eddy Merckx Extra Corsa and given its a Merckx and has full Dura Ace 7400 set, including wheel hubs and D/T shifters I was pretty happy with that price! It has its fair share of battle scars, but that adds to the character!
Its a little bit too big for me but I make it work, I ride around in normal clothes and flat pedals so its purely for messing around, no lycra with this bike!
I haven`t ridden an old steelie for a longggg time, I forgot how much of a noodle they can be when you are really giving it heaps, especially up a climb but it keeps things exciting.
Hopefully my images work, I haven`t used an image hosting site for awhile.

Not mine, and please forgive the quality of the pitchers, but the most recently built Hillman that there is: a steel (of course) fat tyre bike built by Gordon Hill with assistance from Kevin Wigham and the evergreen Kenn Dickie ...

Mine for a few days - Canyon Aeroad CF SLX. It's not a bike for rough roads, it is quite harsh - but it has redeeming qualities. And it is bloody fast downhill. The gearing is a bit big for what I'm doing with it, hoping I don't encounter any 18-20% for extended periods.

Nice. What tubing is it? Looks like your front brake quick release is released...just in case you thought the braking was a bit soggy. You should post it in the retro section.

Tell us more! Do you mean the frame was recently built or it was NOS recently built up?

Yep: brand new, built by Gordon for himself; Columbus tubing for the frame I believe, with carbon disc fork and bars. Gordon's pretty handy with ye brazing and made the lugs all pretty with the file. It's been given the 70s Hillman paint and lining layout, though I don't know whether the red and yellow scheme was the sort of thing that the late H.S. Hill would have permitted to go out the door.

Its Columbus SLX. It rides quite nicely and when I bought it the previous owner had fit 28c Contis on it so that might be why it is as smooth as it is. Im suprised that these tyres actually fit.
Yeah the brakes have been giving me abit of greif and do not centre properly, I always have the same issue with another bike that has Sram Red calipers. It doesn`t bother me that much and is more of a muck around bike and actually stops quite well still.

Recent rebuild of Ye Test Sled after pulling it apart cause it was taking up room and not getting used (kept taking the Paconi down instead of this). It's back, for a few weeks at least, before the wheels go back to the distributor and I decide I need the room for the Koga Miyata that I was meant to be building.

It did look smaller on ebay

New hopes.. Once owned a handcycle.. Did nothing for my legs while almost giving me a heart attack.. Damn harder than they look

Not storage friendly.. Rolled it within 20 minutes of ownership.. Now much wiser to turning circles and speed
