Going well. I have all four road bikes topped with SMP Dynamic saddles, after trying 5 other differing saddles and a SMP Glider before the Dynamic I have found these to be to best combination of agreeable shell with just enough padding to suit me.rodneycc wrote:Btw hows the smp dynamic working for you?

Can't really help out there - saddle selection can be such an individual pursuit. I've tried the Composit - same shell as the Dynamic but with no padding and found it just one step too far.rodneycc wrote:Yeah tossing up between the dynamic and the drakon for my Rec riding.

I remember that spot, i think it featured in the Stage 4 route of the Tour DownUnder earlier this year.corey90 wrote:And looking over sellicks beach, aldinga beachldrcycles wrote:corey90 wrote:

Where is that, it's a beautiful spot.
I did the community ride, and i remember coming down the hill to cross the dam wall at a great rate of knots, and then smashing through the gears for the climb on the other side.
Was a nice day, and the stage for the Pro's was won by Mr Greipel - he certainly has had some good wins in this part of the world.

The Concorde stays but my custom build did not arrive when it was meant to.singlespeedscott wrote:Woohoo. Another Moots. The steel didn't do it for you? Why not a Kent Erikson?
When I called to find out what was going on he told me that I still had 9 frames ahead of me and another 6 month wait, to which I responded that he needed to give me a refund and I would look elsewhere. The hunt restarted, with me considering used Litespeeds and looking into options from Firefly and Form. Then a week ago I typed "Moots Compact for sale" into Google and was blown away to see that the 3rd listing on Google was a 58cm Compact for sale in Melbourne. Exactly the frame I was looking for, in my size and with a matching stem, seatpost, fork and CK headset already installed for $2500. Even better I was heading to Melbourne the very next day to run a cycling roundtable.
The poor guy must have thought I was insane as I left him a mad voice message as well as 2 texts basically saying I wanted to arrange to view it but that unless it was seriously damaged, I would take it. Short story, I viewed it agreed to take it and it arrived at my home 3 days later.

Wheels are at the top of the 'to replace' list once funds are replenished. Am thinking of a pair of RS81s or some DA c35s if i can find a second hand set at the right time.

Changed the bars to my current standard for ergonomics. While tinkering some more, I found a natural frame work stand and tool stool. Put the Ti rack back on and dressed up in different luggage.
Finally took it for first commute after 6 months break, on a 35degC day coinciding with Ride2Work and after recovering from gastro.
With that sorted, this weekend I wheeled out the Basman from hibernation, with child seat refitted to test the new king of my Brooks saddle family. My boy is now old enough for his first ride, so he was pleased to be piloting and ringing the bell. Sadly his 2nd birthday Giant Pre strider style push bike was stolen from our yard around school holidays, so he loved this ride.

This is a lightly used 2010 model from what I have been told.boss wrote:Not a bad build mate! What year is yours?

The Moots stem, seatpost and spacers certainly do finish it off nicely.

That's a great price, and you were lucky to find one locally. I ended up getting mine second hand from the 'States.sumgy wrote:This is a lightly used 2010 model from what I have been told.boss wrote:Not a bad build mate! What year is yours?
