Here's my Focus Planet 8. After taking one on a test ride, I instantly fell in love with it. Factory Belt drive, Shimano Alfine 8 speed internal gear. I have converted into my custom dream commuter / recreational bike. Just don't ask how much it all cost!!

HELLO........ 8)

Gorgeous! Quite unique - delightfully different. What a looker, love the combination of materials - saddle + grips didn't go un-noticed either. Nice pics, very easy to look at........ stunning presentation, made me sit up and take note :D

Really, really, really nice looking bike.
Only change I'd make would be some Ti brake caliper bolts purely from a cosmetic (future rust) point of view.
It's a bit warmer here than Scotland isn't it!

Makes me kinda wish I'd never sold my Alter stem. But it didnt fit anything I owned/own. Surprised to see a 1" threadless steerer! Looks neat.

thanks for the kind comments.

Jim, I was determined to use my alter stem and literally went around the world to find the right parts to fit (parts used from 3 different headsets.. it can be done!). The fork was a little difficult to source, but there are at least a couple different versions availables. Hours spent on google... damn you google! From my background in customizing cars, don't take no for an answer and if it doesn't make sense, then persevere!

Will certainly take on board the ti caliper bolts suggestion.

Completed this exactly 1 month ago and after 650 kms, very happy with it.

Built with new and 2nd hand parts just to minimise the cost. Feeling a bit guilty as i think this bike is too much for me??? Only started late last year but been riding almost every day..

Use as my all around bike and almost everyday as a commuter.
great looking bike!

I'm with Open Roader, double fooey, Looks great, YOUR money, YOUR effort, YOUR reward, enjoy!

As long as it fits you well you did right, saves you from "upgrading" later and since your riding very frequently it looks as if your in with the sport for the long haul, i'd go as far to say that it was a very smart buy....great looking ride btw.

Hey Doc, CLX 3.0 may not be the lightest, but it's a pretty darn stiff and agro bike. I had CLX and CLX 2.0 and was happy with the stiffness and handling. And yours, is just a charmer :D

Heres an updated photo of my Steed, i think the changes have been new Prologo saddle, Ultegra RD and Cassette, and the the Rims which certainly make it look shmico compared to its orginal Shimano R500's

As you can probably tell from the Big Apple's... for a MTB, she doesn't go off-road much.

No sin in that - so long as it is ridden and not a dust collector......... My MTB is slick shod at present for rainy day road riding and only eats 400m x 2 of gravel road each time I take it out for a ride.
