@Gunlock - Love them! I should really take them off when not racing and use the A27 Braccianos....but I don't They roll beautifully and I've had no issues at all. Keep in mind i'm a big tractor (102kg)

IMHO best bang for buck wheel and you can't go wrong on a set.

What are they like to climb with? I have a pair of DT swiss rr1.1 rims with 240s hubs that are nearing 10 years old (still fine) but want a flashier wheel set like those A42's. I know deeper dish wheels are never going to be as light as proper climbing wheels but wonder if you noticed much difference at all with them. I should say that I don't live in a flat area also. Would hate to make life harder for myself!

They climb better than i do! I rode the Mt Morgan range last weekend (http://app.strava.com/segments/934395" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) with no problems, have conquered Mt Archer (http://app.strava.com/segments/5241928" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) but neither with any speed (see big tractor comment). They also handled the Midi Smiddy admirably. The A27s are a little lighter (from memory) but the A42s look better........and that's what it is really about isn't it?

I notice SFA difference between C24's and C35's, apparently the weight difference between the two is 150g. I do a lot of climbing, steep hills, etc. Same same.

You notice crap tyres more than you do wheel weight, if you ask me.

Well, after destroying the TCR's front fork, shifters and seat in a crash, I thought I'd better get a bit more serious. The bike above was a 'toe in the water' and I've been racking up the KM's now for a few months. So I picked up this:



2014 Giant Defy 2 Composite. Added some Trigon bars too. Will be swapping the Mavics from the old TCR, as they're lighter and nicer wheels - but this one is a nicer, more laid back and comfortable frame to rack the KM's up on. Still only 105 5700 components, but that's good enough for me at this stage.

Yep, battery mount via TT bidon bracket so i could run full internal wiring.

Paint is actually a metallic purple/green chameleon which shimmers in the sun.
