It was pretty warm here yesterday, then light showers + thunderstorms last night. This morning it got REAL foggy - visibility got pretty bad (<10m) as I was heading to Lofty via Sheok rd. There was fog pretty much the whole way but after Crafers it was pretty bad.

Then went for a ride at lunch today and Garmin says that average temp was 34 Celsius.

Wacky weather hey!

[quote="MarkG"]Not quite built yet, but my new frame - 2013 Specialized S-Works Venge, Omega Pharma Quick-Step edition, about to be sent from my mate's shop to me!

Image

Really nice frame, I rode the below venge on a specialized ''ride the best'' day a few weeks ago.

The most impressive thing about the whole bike was the frame in my opinion, firm and ridged yet smooth too, seemed to be really steady ride, not sure if it has a slightly longer wheelbase then my scott cr1, but it was an awesome ride!

Image

I also rode the shiv pro below.... I never ridden a TT bike before, man it was faaaast!! Enjoyed it very much, took it an extra 5k than the rest of the bikes I tested, I wish I could afford one of these in my garage to take out for a quick blast every now and then. Those Zipp wheels were awesome, dont half blow you about though!!!

That Shiv is not TT legal.

It's amazing what they come up with though in the unfettered world of Tri. :D

For those who, like me, for whom the UCI rules are not ingrained, via Bike Radar
Bike Radar wrote:The new Shiv breaches current UCI regulations in at least eight ways: the head tube, down tube, base bar, fork and seat post all exceed the UCI's maximum 3:1 ratio for tube cross sections; the seat stays are placed too low on the frame; the saddle nose is less than 50mm behind the bottom bracket and there's even an illegal fairing behind the stem

Mmmmm! That Venge is very nice. I've got some 65mm carbon clinchers on my Trek and yeah, they are insanely quick. Just rolls forever at high speeds. :D They are not great in crosswinds though, but you do eventually get used to it. The first ride you encounter that scares you a bit.

I've seen a similar Shiv to the one you tried - extremely nice looking. Someone was walking it across in front of Customs House in Sydney, while I was walking my Trek along as well.

Mine after getting back from bike hospital:

I'll get a better photo this afternoon. It has never ran so well, shifted so smoothly and crisply. I'm very happy I didn't have to get another frame after the accident. The new wheels were costly enough. Bontrager Aeolus 6.5 branded HED 65mm clinchers.

Still need to get the painting finished but it does ride well. Not as quick as my other bikes but certainly relaxing.

My first road bike i purchased a couple of weeks ago which i got it for $850 and i love it. The tiagra setup on this bike is a smooth shifter, i have never ridden a bike with a tiagra (or higher) setup before this but i feel that a strong rider could easily win races with this bike.

PS i have removed a couple of more spacers since that photo , this is my machine for at least 16 months and i plan to do some riding before upgrading.
