Nice one aroes. What is the crankset? Looks a big difference between big cog small cog. None the less, if you need to get rid of it I know this poor bloke in Pt Lincoln who has to commute on an old Alu Trek with horrible handlebars. He wouldn't be able to pay you much because he is only a poor house painter.........
Haha don't think I'll be parting with this one for a while mate, if ever Chain set is a 50/34 with 172.5mm cranks. Pretty standard compact configuration as far as I'm aware. Running the same on my fast bike (only that runs Rival, not Apex) The Surly is quite a nice ride. Not the lightest bike around but very solid and predictable All in all pretty happy with it

And so you should be! Yep I've got 50/34 on the Trek but with 175 cranks which are a bit big for my little legs! Go the dedicated commuter!

2011 or 2012 model? The navy scheme on the 2012 F4 is nice, shame we don't get the gloss silver version here in Aus though.

Hi all, I thought I should add to this thread... and why not on my #100 post! Pic below shows my 2 current bikes, a circa 2001 Norco Sasquatch & 2010 Avanti Vivace (Sorry about the poor photo, I took it on my way out this morning) Anyway the Norco (& my old Jekyll) had been sitting around being ridden only 2 -3 times a year for the past 5 or so years when I recently "got the bug back", so the Jekyll got sold, & the Avanti was purchased second hand and has been doing plenty of ks over the last couple of weeks, and I'm now registered for the B2GC in 2 weeks! Can't wait!
Always looking for new rides & ride partners in SE QLD area

Well at least when you finish the B2GC you don't have to find your way back to Brisbane like 95% of the others. Come to think of it you could set off from home at 3am then when you hit Brisveagus just turn around & ride back home

Nice Giant! Tell me, have you solved the problem of bottles launching out of the rear carrier? I use a bungee cord.
What are these salesmen peddling?

Good to see an old Giant still being used, but it needs way more stuff hanging off it.
