My "NEW" 2010 Merida "Road Race" 903-10, it's my first road bike, so not full carbon sub 7kgs monster or anything, but It's a very good beginners ride!

Yep good ride for the money Cheapfixed... I swapped out the wheels, tyres & seat on mine and you can certainly feel the improvements.

I think you mean "claimed 800gr frame"! I briefly chucked it on a small scale out of interest when it arrived, I think it came in around the ~1000 mark. Still, nothing to complain about

Hi All,
Have admired many a bike on this forum and thought it was time to post my trusty steed...
Story behind this goes as follows: Had an F3:13 which got a crack in the seat tube at the top about 6 months ago which was covered under warranty (by 1 month) and thought it's not very often you get a chance to upgrade by only paying the difference between what they were going to replace and the new frame... That's what I told the wife anyway.
Finally got around to upgrading the wheel hence time to put the photo up.
Pinarello FP-7 Frame
Campagnolo Shamal Ultra Wheels
Campagnolo Athena Cranks & Chainrings
Campagnolo Centaur for the rest
3T Ergonova Pro Bars
3T ARX Pro Stem
Prologo Scratch Pro Ti Saddle
Look Keo Blade Carbon Pedals
Continental Grand Prix 4000S Tyres

Well yes there is. If you bought an 800 g frame based on BH advertising and it turned up 200 g heavier that IS something to complain about.
I wonder if its typical? If it is its downright fraudulent.
However a 1000g frame is mainstream good weight and the stuff on it looks nicely light. The bike is probably a joy to ride.
Is that a carbon seat I spy?

Yes it is, a Velocite which came from a recommendation from a friend. Fits my rear end quite nicely.
WIth regard to the weight - I mean that a 1000g frame is nothing to complain about. I actually bought the frame second hand, so I wasn't concerned about the claimed weight at that time. I'd also read around on the internet and it seems that a few people were seeing weights of around 900-1000g for their G5, so it wasn't totally unexpected. But I do agree with you that BH claiming 800g may have been pretty unfair, but (correct me if I'm wrong here) this seems to be becoming a bit more common in the marketplace recently. Didn't Pinarello claim a 54 Dogma (2010) was around 1000g, when actual weights were turning up ~1200-1300? In any case it's not right, but as I said I bought it second hand knowing full well it may not be 800g.

Just got a new Oppy A2.
Rode it home, got to a top speed of 45km/h but averaged 20.7.
First ever road bike, first ever time I have ridden one, will be getting clipless pedals at the 'first service.'
Love it so far!!!!
40kms to be done on Sunday morning......
