Just please make sure those lights are not pointing at my face, lol! Some cyclist totally ignored others by pointing high powered lights straight to the face of the other cyclist travelling in opposite direction.

The reason I added them was because the intermediate Ayups didn't have a far enough throw and I noticed my line of vision is always a couple of metres in front of where the beam ended. This is quite dangerous for me as 95% of my travel is at +30km/hr on the shoulder of the M5 where you get a lot of chunks of truck tyres and wood/metal bits etc.

Weight of both the Ayups are 396g according to manufacture's specs.

Re glare, I tested it out myself last night on the street as I was also worried about that. Had to dip them quite a bit though I think they're fine now.

This is the current bike that I am building.



I am thinking of changing the wheelset and hub into a full matte black. I am still waiting for the rear 32T cog, then this is ready to roll!

Looks IDENTICAL to a mate of mines - set up (with spacers etc), bidon cage and all! Weird!

Yeah spot on! Looks neat as long as you don't have the bottle attached. This will not work for me as I sometimes use the cage to carry tools. Great to have an alternative non traditional option.

Yeah works a treat, makes it easy for me to manage water for different rides.
My default ride is only 65km so just carry one 500ml, but on the long stuff I carry 2 x 710ml
The bottles are very good quality.

Here is my 2012 Trek Madone 4.7 - done over 12000k's since last Feb on it.
Very nice bike to ride, only changed the saddle for a Selle Italia Flite Gel, is comfy, perhaps a bit soft on longer rides.
Only just purchased the Sram wheels for an absolute steal, love the way they look on the bike.
I don't like the Trek colours for 2013 so won't be changing anytime soon!

After a lot of kms I retired my Avanti Giro 3 today to the indoor trainer. Was really keen on a Scott Foil 40 after riding one but just couldn't get my head around the price for a 105 equipped machine. Giant LBS did me a great deal on a 2013 Defy Advance 1 for only a little bit more than the Foil 40 so I am really happy with this bike. Did the Nudgee to Sandgate loop this arvo - wow. Never realised how good a higher spec bike can make you feel/go.

I checked out the specs and this has a very lightweight wheel set as well as a brilliant frame.

I would class 1775g as very heavyweight? All relative I guess.
What on earth does your wheelset weigh?

Ah right. I was looking at it on my phone and it seemed a bit longer than the standard. Looks more like the standard now that I'm looking at it on my pc.
