The appalling thing is I got it home late last night, too late and dark to go for a ride, and then swapping over wheels, putting the new cassette on the rear wheel, pads, adjust the brakes and some temporary bidon cages to it, put a profile on the garmin. By the time I was finished with that, it was dark. And this afternoon again home too late. :( I did however have a quick little loop around the yard to get a feel for the ultegra pedals, check the tension on them to avoid any embarrassing little incidents and just get a first feel of the way the thing is. All good. :) Feels no different to my old bike in that respect.

Work to do - work out how I go mounting a light on the back of it, given the awkward shape of the seat post (it's part of the frame!) and putting some new carbon bidon cages on it so the thing is all colour keyed up. My normal front wheel is off getting some work done on it, so I'll put that one back on when it is done.

And damn, I hate the rolling back of daylight savings time. It is evil. Nothing good comes from that stupid change. Should be daylight savings time all year round. :D
Don't let the dark put you off riding, learn to love it! I prefer commuting in darkness than daylight. Just something really calming about it all.

Grab yourself some good quality lights and off you go.

Already got good lights - I've found a quite place to get in my evening rides. Nothing like a nice quite industrial estate with rolling hills and billiard table smooth roads. 8)

Love the bike...looking at getting one myself but the tall head tube makes fit difficult.

Just a few questions - what size frame do you have, what is your seat height (centre of the bb to top of the saddle) and what's your height & inseam?

Apologies for all the questions, but I think I may have to go for a smaller size and put a long (140mm) -17deg stem on it to get a proper fit....

Nice looking bike, I sold a Katmandu that wasn't my size the other day, virtually identical frame.

Was only joking on that one, I hope it didn't come across rudely!

I'm 5-11, but the size 54's head tube is just too tall for me unfortunately. I think I will need to get a little crafty with fit....thanks anyway, and enjoy the ride :-)

cheers boys

Henri, have been advised that a long rear mech cable is actually more beneficial (for sram). I actually just used the stock length that came with the yokzuna kit (too lazy too cut). Turns out its a good length and ive got no complaints on the RD

As for the wheels, will let you know =D

Was told the same thing by the mechanic about the rear mech cable on my bike (SRAM Rival).

Something other than a go fast road machine. My rebuilt warranty frame replacement commuter, with a goodly load of parts from forum members.
