Somehow managed to pass 10.000k mark... didn't realise it until I got an e-mail from Strava. I expected to reach 150km ascent goal at the same time. Overestimated by a huge margin - still at 112km.

Another slackarse month for me with a measly 235km and 3622m of up during July. I did pass 6000km though so that's something :-) Hopefully the winter flu is behind me now and it gets serious from here as I've got a couple of long rides planned for September and November.

Injured, not supposed to ride and I am only allowed minimal walking. I could jump on a bike right now, but it will only worsen things - or it'll be a chronic thing that won't get better.

It doesn't seem to be getting a lot better at the moment - I'll see tomorrow how the physio thinks it is going.

Bugger, that's no good. Let's hope the physio has better news.

Slowly, yes.

I've been told I can do some walking and some gentle exercises, but to stop immediately with those if I feel any pain.

Bugger g-boaf, I know how frustrating it can be to be forced off. It does end though, so do what they say :-)

Bad luck g-boaf - but the time off will hopefully see you come completely good.

Keep up the good work all.

Sorry to hear about your injury. As others have suggested, take your time getting back to cycling since you don't want to aggravate it. I had six weeks out last year so understand the frustration.

Not at 10k yet obviously but I have been keeping an occasional eye on my rolling year kilometres (ie Aug 14, 2015 - Aug 14, 2016) and for the first time ever it has read 10 000klm+! Bit excited...

For the record 6656k ytd...454 ahead of run rate. Takes some hard graft to shift the dial in this thread!

Well, I'm now at the point of walking fairly quickly for 15-20min, three times a week, various other exercises and possibly next week allowed some easy 1 hour interval sessions on a stationary trainer so I can stop if I need to. Some of the exercises are not nice to do and the difference in the range of motion in my right and left legs is still quite massive.

At least I can walk alright now, that's a small win. :)

4 weeks holiday no riding.
Dark, cold, depressing winter.
Chest infection I'm getting over now and general rotational shiftwork sucking the life out of me = 3 rides in 7 weeks.
Winter has turned and I'm back into it now, a little heavier and a lot slower.
Haven't been on strava in about 2 months.
I might scrape in 10 k
Dogs are the best people

Got out on the bike today - about 55km. That was so good after not riding at all. :)

I bet, especially as you thought that would be it for the year not long ago.

I passed through 9000 km this morning so still nicely on track.

Ok, so I've now passed 11k for the year with 123k of climbing. I should easily reach and exceed the 15K goal. We'll see about hitting the 250k of climbing though. That's probably unlikely given the tim eleft.

I have just started training for the Fitz Challenge, so that will get the elevation and distance moving along, and there might be an everesting attempt or two thrown in after Fitz is done and I continue the training leading into the Alpine Classic in January.

Well done on the 9000km! You'll get 10k this year quite easy. :)

I'm happy to be back riding - doing alright for 4 weeks off. The Saturday and Sunday rides were both at a pretty good average speed too. I'm staying around the local area in case anything should go wrong.

I hit 160k of climbing for the year this morning. I don't think I'll hit 250k of climbing for the year

Broke through 10,000 km with yesterday's 300 km ride. Only 117,000 m of climbing though so hopefully will ramp up ( ) to hit my 160,000 m goal.

Fabulous effort biker jk.

A week of skiing has put me a bit behind my target, so hoping to take advantage of great September weather to get back in front.
