2017 - 10k Plus Club

Postby billy70 » Sun Jan 01, 2017 10:41 am

Some outstanding achievements in 2016 and I happily exceed my own expectations rather significantly. I was aiming for 7k but managed to squeeze out over 12k. I've clearly benefited from the increased riding and really enjoyed it as well.

Given this, I'll be aiming for 12k again in 2017 as I have found that 1k per month, every month, is a realistic target for me.

Looking forward to seeing the progress of others as well. All the best for 2017!

!0k is my annual target - again. I usually make it with an uninterrupted run at it.

Starting tomorrow though.
2023 Target: 9.500kms/100,000m

Without a tour planned I won't be aiming for anywhere near my last years distance. 10k will be enough for me.

I might need to get back into riding this year.

Dropping my expectations and aiming for 7k.

Going to aim for 15k, tentative - with some big riding in Europe later this year.

Skull - you may want join the 6k thread?

I'm in. I'll say 12k and aim to keep my run of 1000km months going (only one month below in the last 4 years)

After 20,000 km in 2016... I'm aiming for 18K this year. Last year built some serious miles in the legs... this year I hope to build on that foundation.
Anyhow... new goal... new club :-)

I'm in for this year at 13k.

1k/month of commuting, and a bit left over for fun. Managed to start off well with a ride today, however it did highlight that I now lose fitness at a much faster rate than I used to...

Cheers,

Back on the up :)

Not much for the start of this year but once the fitness is back hopefully somewhat a lot. Got the training rides over Mt Glorious and back via Mt Mee/Fernvale queued up :)

Ok, I am going to try for 10k this year so here I am. Just missed 10k last year so shouldn't be hard.

Time to step up from the 6k club I suppose, wish me luck, and I'll try and get the progress bar updated.

I should be miles behind by mid Jan when I return to work and then I'll have to make it up over the rest of the year.

9.3k for me last year which was my most ever. Was consistently in the 150-250/week range so I'll see if I can't keep that up & get to 10k this year.

I'll give it a crack - 16.8k last year, so we shall see whether the motivation continues.....

Good luck all!

I surpassed my aim of 12,000 and managed just over 15k last year so I'm going to aim for 15,000 this and see if I can match 2016.

Managed 12k this past year, but found that I finished off the year about 5kg's overweight and feeling fatigued and slower than any other of my last years (all about 10,000kish).

I think bad diet (generally eating and drinking what ever I want when I want using cycling as an excuse to burn it off..) while trying to (badly) manage a chronic gastric condition and a total lack of any structure to include adequate rest days left me dropping in and out of some fitness plateau that I kept getting stuck in. While I wouldn't exactly call it overtraining.. I just call it a very bad training technique.

This year I'm aiming at cutting back to hit 10k, but trying to add some targeted intensity and enough slow recovery days.

I'm aiming for 10k this year, did for a few years then life in the form of parental health issues got in the way. Going to try to work around those this year. Have managed not quite 300k so far just 9700 to go.

Aiming for 10k this year on the bike plus 1,200 km running. Now a dumb question, how do I add a progress bar?

Made a good start despite some disruptions, hope everyone else is racking them up as well.
