2017 - The Imperial Century (160km) and Metric Century (100km)

I'll kick this one off.

Some fun with some mates this morning. Was hot and humid too.

To save space with the stickies, it is probably best to combine the metric and imperial centuries. Of course you can tally one or both.

What's a klm? Is it anything like a km?

Could you edit the subject line in the original post(s) please?

Impressive ride to start.

Cheers,

I'm going to try for a pretty big ride on the weekend, perhaps Saturday - see what the weather does.

Just before then end of last year I did a whole heap of 145-150km rides (7 of them in 7 days) that could easily have been imperial centuries with a little bit extra effort, so I guess I should manage one proper one before the end of the break.

I used to be able to do 150ish km rides quite easily. Then I got a gf and a job that requires lots of travel. Put on 10kg and now struggle to do 50km.

Fast forward 6 years and I'm still struggling

Goal this year is to 'get back into it'. Hopefully I'll be posting in this thread again in a few months with my strava link showing the 160km ride!

Smashing it CC64. Both well done and good luck Chriso

Anyways, good start to the year with one Metric and one Imperial for me and some decent climbing as well. Not sure I can keep the run rate up...

@Mugglechops: Nice, congrats! Easy enough to find you on Strava but the ride isn't public. :(

Fancied one today as it wasn't too hot and the missis was busy.

168km or 104miles, not much elevation but that was intentional, as I recently had an 18 day break so building fitness back again.

Ha ha. Missed it by that much. Over 2k of elevation gives you the extra 200m

100 miles is 160.9344 kilometers. I can't lay claim to a Imperial Century yet, but I did ride a couple of kays to the start line but didn't track it on my GPSs.

No imperials yet, but two decent metrics so far this year.

Not bad.

Got my first ever imperial in last Friday at the TDU. Even managed to finish the last 30km with a rear hub that insisted on disassemlbing itself.

Took advantage of Australia day and picked up second metric century for the year. Weather was near perfect in WA though hot so early start worked a treat even if the headwind took its toll on the legs over the last few kms.

Not planned, just kept riding as I felt good.

Nice work all especially to the new members doing their 1st milestone rides (or is that kilometrestone).

Finished January with one Imperial and three Metrics after a hilly 111klm this morning.
