I'm going to try out in the 10k club, a few years ago I wondered whether I could make 6k. Wish me luck!

Aiming for 5000km this year (not sure how to change the target bar?). Have finished just below 4000km for the past 3 years, so time to push myself a little... :-)

KB was running the progress bar and he seems to have just changed it for a lot of us which is great. I sent him a PM as I need to change my target but you could send a PM asking to update yours.

I notice he hasn't been online for a while so likely away, may take a little while.

Great to have people who know how to do this and put in the effort, huge thanks to KB.

Given I scrapped in 6000 by 4km in 2016 I'd like to join this one.
Not sure how the progress bars work, but would love one if possible?

Cheers,
Chris

I would like to join. Not quite ready for 10K just yet. Did 6K last year and would hope to replicate that again this year.

Thanks

I'm in too, but like last year and the year before I'll probably come and go at random times.

Its good to see some new faces this year .... welcome .... as well as a number returning. DavidS is leaving us for the 10k club .... good luck David ... based on your performance in 2016 10k will not be much of a stretch.

As regard the status bar .... forum member kb has provided this service which is greatly appreciated. I suggest you PM him with your details.

I personally will be shooting for 7,600 this year.

Cheers,
Graeme

Include me in again please! I fell off the horse (figuratively) last year, but I'll have a shot for 6k this year.

I'm going to go for the 6k too. Last year I managed about 4500kms. Hoping to make some serious gain on that. Just picked up an old indoor trainer which will hopefully help a bit.

I'm going to take the liberty of firing off the first rant of 2017, because Telstra ate my sanity......

Well, not really, but they have yet again screwed us over, AGAIN. We knew Settlement on our house was coming through on December 3, so THREE WEEKS before that we went in to make arrangements to have the interwebs moved, to be told we didn't have to worry until 3 DAYS before.......

Say, I think I can hear alarm bells.......

Sure enough, two phone calls and a visit to the Telstra shop on the 5th of December only netted a phone number to call if nothing happens within a week.......

Yup, they sure were alarm bells......

Anyway, they are now seven weeks overdue, my wife and I have blown our mobile data limit out of the water, and after two hours on a conference call, the best they could come up with was the 24th of January. I don't want to watch my progress bar not progress until the 24th of January! :x

That feels better.

As you were......

Thanks grt046, not holding my breath though. My wife received a call from them yesterday asking how the technician performed. She informed them that no one came, no one was supposed to come, and if they could get their act* together that would be fantastic.

He then proceeded to tell her they are having so much trouble connecting due to a fault in the wires.

Of WIRELESS NBN

Who's riding where this weekend??

I'll have a go at 6K km this year. I did 5234km in 2016 which is my highest yearly total. Looking to push myself a bit more this year.

I have to admit, I'm already struggling to maintain the required pace for 6k. Family life, work etc are the primary factors, but I'm sure that's no surprise to anyone. I'm still on track for now, but worry about maintaining it over the course of the year, especially in the colder months.

Don't give up just yet, you never know what the other end of the year will bring!

Totally agree with Cardy George it is very early days yet and once you establish a regular ride pattern it gets easier. I have been a bit slow out of the blocks and am behind but plan to gradually build up over time.

It is good to see you back grantw after a stint with 10k last year.

Off to a good start, currently sitting on 468 after 2.5 weeks. But a 2 week stint in Japan next month will put me out a little. Unless I can find a bike to ride lol.

Thanks Graeme, though I didn't make the distance last year so here's hoping I don't come to pieces in June...

Thanks for the advice guys. I have no plans to pack it in yet, but I do have my concerns. I guess this will make achieving the goal feel all the more victorious?!

Just got back from kids swimming lessons, so hopefully be able to get out this afternoon.
