I passed my halfway point today, so I'm a little ahead of the curve :-)

Great stuff Grant.

Lost a little bit of ground due to a minor man flu, but got a 65km commute in today.
But looks like rain for the weekend :(

I'm currently hiding away after some minor surgery last week. Hope to be back up and riding again before the month is out, but I'll likely have lost my entire buffer by then.

I fell behind when things got busy at work, but tomorrow morning I'll be back on target....

....until the baby arrives in August :P

A 6k baby! My youngest was the first way back when it was just the 5k Club in 2011. Are you excited?

For the first time in a very long time I've been quarantined from work (it's tough, but I'll struggle thru  ). I haven't ridden since last Monday, lucky I made that buffer at the start of the year.

I thought I'd put the time into crafting a mounting bracket to go on my $0 29er's odd-ball stem for my Garmin and Ay-Ups.

Thanks Cardy,

I did 5K last year (just starting to get into cycling on my first road bike) with a 1 and 3yr old. I'm hoping I won't get too far behind when the bub comes along, but I'll try to build in a bit of a buffer before then.

I generally ride at 4am anyway, so either way I'll be awake ;-)

End of the month and I managed 602km with 8100m of climbing during June. I had a few other things to do this month which cut back my riding time but to be honest I really do not like the cold and it takes a while for me to adjust. So all things considered not a bad start to winter, I'll try and keep it up in July.

Well, they've finally destroyed themselves. Photobucket has stopped users sharing their own photos, expecting users to pay $400 per year to gain access to the links.

Lucky The Tour starts tomorrow cos now I have to re-link photos on three different forums.

Hopefully my normal transmission will resume shortly

June stayed dry which meant I managed 795 kms for the month. Year to date I am on track with 4,670 kms.

6 months down, 2731km done! Stoked with my efforts so far. Yearly goal remains 5000km, and well on track for that. 6000km stretch goal is still very doable.

Remainder of the year, aiming to keep consistently hitting the 500km/month target. If I can do that, the rest of the targets will look after themselves... :-)

Why? Lots of good km between Canberra and the ski fields.

I attended a friend cyclist's funeral this week, not the car drivers fault, & I have not ridden since.
Such a waste, a wife left with 3 x junior boys, he was only 48yo.
There is a fundraiser if you can spare a few bucks.

I had a very lack lustre July, strained my shoulder doing house maintenance and spent most of the month off the bike. Back on it as of last week though and managed a 100km ride on Friday so I'm hoping I'll get back in green before the end of August. So 196km and 1800m of up.

Glad to see you back Grant .... I was wondering what happened.

Hey Mustang I notice the Sunny Coast CycleFest is on in a couple of months with a climb up to Montville on the 7th Oct and a 110k Fondo on the Sunday 8th. Count me out of the climb but am considering having a crack at the Fondo. What is the course like .... is it manageable by an old bugger. Our local MB 100 is cancelled so am looking for another option.

Cheers

I was also thinking about doing the fondo this year.
I did the mountain climb challenge up to Montville last year. Got a personal best so I was happy with that. It was my first time riding in an organised event so I went for something short and simple. I could also ride home afterwards as I'm only about 2km from Montville :)

Well living close to Montville you would be used to hills. A few of the guys I ride with have entered both but I think the climb one day and a hilly 110k Fondo the next might be a bit much for me.
