I think a similar philosophy has been adopted from the Dura-Ace crankset;eeksll wrote:very chunky crank arm.
The Dura-Ace 9100 Crankset has been redesigned specifically for modern race bikes that are using disc brakes and shorter chainstays

You'll need plenty of that to make it look pretty.g-boaf wrote:Interesting included extras.

No surprise... Ultegra/600 (as it was in earlier days) has closely followed Dura-Ace design for over 40 years. Why break tradition now?Jawa wrote:I think a similar philosophy has been adopted from the Dura-Ace crankset;eeksll wrote:very chunky crank arm.

I could be proven wrong, but I'd be doubtful of an Ultegra power crank at this stage - even the Dura-Ace one isn't out in the wild yet! Di2 took a couple of years to trickle down to Ultegra; I'd expect this to be similar.

Duck!, do you have any details on compatibility with and between previous Ultegra series?
Worth noting that Chivas Regal as a wet-lubricant is probably a bit generic and for better performance, look towards Bowmore, Talisker and one of my favourites, Bruichladdich.

The "Ultegra" font also looks way better in the 9 o'clock position

Unlikely. The 110 BCD on the cranks limits them to a smallest tooth of 34. To go smaller they need a different solution - e.g. some manufacturers (Sugino and FSA) use a different BCD for the inner and outer ring. With Praxis, the chainring bolt screws straight onto the chainring.Velt wrote:Reckon they'll do a 48/32 or a 46/30 crank?
The downside of these setups is that it makes you very locked in in terms of ring choices as no-one seems to be able to agree on what the best solution is.

Not everyone who rides wants the wide Q of MTB cranks when they want low gearing. It wouldn't of been hard to design it to be able to mount a something as low as a 28-44
