Research Study Opportunity
Title: The Effect of Exercise Above and Below the Lactate on Markers of Mitochondrial Biogenesis in Men
Research Study Details:
• Eight visits
• Measuring Oxygen Consumption, Heart Rate, Blood Lactate
• Twelve Muscle Biopsies (4 biopsies spread out over 3 separate visits)
• All testing will take place in the Exercise Physiology Lab at the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Active Living (ISEAL) at Victoria University (Footscray Park Campus) Melbourne, VIC.
Research Participants:
We are recruiting physically active males (18-50 years of age) - preferably cyclists.
What you will receive:
1. VO2max
2. Lactate Threshold
3. Maximal Aerobic Power
4. Maximal Lactate Steady State or Functional Threshold Power (measured via blood lactate)
5. $100 Coles Voucher
Things you need to know:
• We will schedule around your training/races.
• Muscle Biopsies although invasive do not stop you from training
