1000km & 21 Mountains Non-Stop (Mike Cotty)

Postby Mububban » Thu Nov 09, 2017 11:47 pm

Exactly as the title suggests, this video shows insane climbing machine Mike Cotty riding "The Road to Mont-Blanc - 1000km & 21 Mountains Non-Stop"

British cyclist Mike Cotty completed his latest and toughest challenge in August (2014), cycling non-stop, day and night for 1000 kilometres through the Dolomites, Eastern Alps and Swiss Alps taking in 21 mountain passes.

Cotty commenced the mammoth trip in Conegliano, Italy, and ended it in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, France. During the 50-hour trip, he encountered storms, headwinds and crippling fatigue and climbed over 21,000 metres.

The ride has also been logged on Strava.

He rode it on a 5.9kg Cannondale, easiest gear was 34-28:

I first watched this guy on the Youtube channel "The Col Collective" where he rides iconic climbs around the world, all while narrating and never sounding anywhere near short of breath

There's some lovely camera work in their videos, and it's really intimidating yet inspiring stuff.

City and Col Collective was a brilliant resource and motivator for our trip last year !!
