Malvern Star Oppy A4

Hi does anyone have the specs for a Oppy A4 circa 2010 red and white frame XL? it came with tiagra and Aksium wheels. Was the fork carbon or Aluminium??? is it a good frame??? and how was tiagra back then? looking at one thats online for when i am home for Xmas so need some info.

That model had a carbon fork. Tiagra of the era was OK, but if it hasn't been looked after then it may be a bit hit and miss. No reason why it won't work, but expect to have to give it a service if it's been sitting in a garage for some years.

BTW, I have a 2011 A5. It's basically the same bike as yours but with 10 speed Shimano 105.

I bought it second hand and have put 8000+ kms on it, so I guess I must like it!

I had one of these as my first proper road bike, started racing on it. Very good value I think. I still have the frame hanging on the wall in the garage but the Tiagra groupset went onto my steel framed commuter and has done daily duty for the last four years or so, still holding up well (only had to replace the front derailleur a couple of years ago due to wear). The Aksium wheels lasted a long time but have now been retired. All in all a good value bike.
