It's been a bugger of ayear cycling wise - too much time away from home in the caravan, to much other stuff around the home and, to a significant extent, too much sleeping in.
So while the meter continues to record my every km I have not been looking at it or recording it. And, for the first time in a decade, I have not been doing my usual ride-my-age-in-day three or four times in the year.
Yesterday, after a return from a couple of months on the caravan over east, I bit the bullet and, an hour or so into my ride to and from Perth it just felt right to do the age thing.
I'm a year older this year but I managed a touch under 66km. Whoo whoo.
I'm gonna be heading to Queensland in March next year and after that who knows where. I'm not much into New Years resolutions but I really need to get out of the way early in 2018.
I've been slack this year but...

I've done bugger all too. Well down on other years.
The main excuse is time pressure with teenage kids and increased work hours.
Motivation has been down a bit also.

I've been out with injury since Mid-April. Coming it at around 4,500km for the year, which is probably still pretty high compared to a "normal person" (as my doctor calls people who don't ride!).
I feel like a sloth, have gained a pile of weight, and just looking forward to 2018 and just ignoring the risk averse suggestions of the doctor and living my life.
