Help with new road tyres

Hi guys,

I've been running the Gavia Race 1 25mm tubeless tyres that cane with my TCR but got a large gash on the rear.

Im going to change both tyres to either 25mm again or 28mm.

I don't want to spend $100 each at this point so was wondering what are some good tubeless options (25 or 28) that are no more than $70 each?

Any advice appreciated!

I put Schwalbe pro1s on my TCR on removal of the gavia. Around 5,000km with zero punctures on the gavials and only changed them as I flattened the profile of the rear using it on my trainer when laid up with an injury. The Pro1s are allegedly the same 25mm as the gavias, but are actually about 3mm wider. Hence running a lower, more comfortable tyre pressure.

I think I paid $70 or maybe $80 at the LBS but can be had cheaper online.

How have you guys found the Gavia tubeless tyres compared to other tyres you've used before for grip and comfort etc?

Sorry, I can't comment on that as the TCR was my first roadie, so nothing for comparison. As the gavia got older the grip dropped off a bit, but this was only noticed as the rear locking a bit under panic braking. (Which fortunately I don't do very often.)
In very unscientific comparison, the Pro1 is more comfortable, (and grippy I think), but my 2cents worth is really only worth 1.5 in this instance.

As far as tubeless, Schwalbe Pro One or Vittoria Corsa Speed. Hutchinson make some models as well. There aren't that many choices for high performance tubeless tyres.
