How do you get the progress bar working. I joined the Strava Cycling Club for the forum, but not sure where to go from there. I got to 6000 km this year and barely rode between July and October. Hoping to get to 7500km next year and not have any down months like 2017.

Looked at my work and personal travel this year and will have to revise my initial thoughts of 10,000.
I made 8500 this year, will try for that again.

Hi KB I will try for 6K again, like another poster here, I think the clubs should be separate.

Last year I rode 17k km so I guess I need to go for 18k this year

I think 15k is well within reason for me this year, so i'll aim for 20k.

I think this is great.
I'd like to join and have a crack at 8,000kms

I see other people's progress bars and would like to have one and use it as motivation.
How does one sign up for it?

Aiming for 10,000km this year, as I did last year. Fell short by 640km last year, after collision with a car mid-December put me off the bike. Still recovering but got back on the bike again today.

I'll have a go this year. I had no target in 2017 and ended up doing 7500km. I'll probably do about the same amount of riding this year, but I have a month or so on holidays planned for towards the end of the year - with no riding during that time - so I will have to think about a suitable goal.

How do I get one of those progress bar thingies?

Great start to the year for me, must get out on the bike soon. Not back to work and commuting until 22 Jan so will have a lot to catch up. But this is normal.

Hey, KB, how do I up my target to 10,500? I have done this at Bike Journal. Maybe I need to record a few KMs before it works. Thanks.

I will aim for 6K. Not all that confident as last year was a slack year, life got in the way a little bit... Hopefully this year I will get back on track. Always good to have a goal.
I just joined the group on strava. I don't use bikejournal anymore. Like others, do I need to do anything more to set up a progress bar? Thanks for your efforts KB, greatly appreciated.

One more annoying question...
How do I include kms already ridden this year? Not many, a little over 50kms, but every little bit helps...

If the 50 kms are on Strava then the progress bar should have picked them up. Have you got your Strava account set to private or are any of the 50kms ridden so far on a private ride?

If they were ridden before you joined Strava then just enter it manually on Strava as a ride, call it something like Pre Strava Ride and put down 50kms as the distance.

Thanks Hergest. Yes, I had everything set to private. Hopefully I have done it now.

I asked about the progress bar previously but didn't get a response and have tried the search function to find an existing thread about IT. I've signed up for Bikejournal and filled in the details. What else do I need to do to get the progress bar?

I just PM'd KB with a link to my Strava account.

And thanks again KB for sorting it out again this year.

I've tried that, but my message seems to just sit in my outbox and not send. And it truly is an awful messaging system.

KB - if you're out there, can you arrange a progress bar for me for 8,000km. this is my Strava account if you need it: https://www.strava.com/athletes/10842403.

Thanks.

The message has been sent. It shows in your Outbox until it has been read. So that means KB hasn't seen the message yet.

Doesn't seem to have updated... I am sure I have made everything public.
But thanks for helping me, a classic techno chump.. Will be commuting tomorrow, so I am hoping those kms show up. At least it's only 50kms I am missing...
