Cyclist Takes on South America on $100 Bike

Not sure where to post this so here will do.
Came across this in our local paper.
Albany's Leroy Savage has just returned home after an epic 14000 km journey through South America on a $100 bike.
It took him 16 months.

Apparently a Japanese tourist rode across (or around?) Australia on one of those $100 Kmart bikes.
By the end he must of had Arnold Schwarzenegger legs.
