Schwalbe trainer tyres

I recently grabbed myself a schwalbe trainer tyre to save my new road tyre as I knew I was going to be smashing the bike on the trainer for a couple of months.

I jumped on yesterday morning and noticed a bumping feeling so I jumped off and check out the trainer and noticed the tyre had bumps appearing almost like blisters:

About the tire:
  • 12 hours trainer usage
    Inflated to 100 psi
Trainer is Kurt Kinetic Rock n Roll
Trainer is only ever tightened just enough to stop slippage
Pretty pissed really as I have had normal road tyres last ages with trainer usage.

Anyone else used one these and had either success or otherwise?

I've seen other trainer tyres do this as well (especially the Continental ones, these ones too) - and it usually ends with an ear-splitting loud bang!

Try a Continental Gatorskin if you can get one at a good price, I've seen them lasting quite a long time, more than the special trainer tyres.

Cheers man that was my plan (normal road tyre) however I sent a quick email to the distributor here in Oz (as my bike shop just closed down) and they offered to send out a replacement.

After getting my address the wicked guy said he can drop off the new tyre on his way home.

All in all although disappointed in the first tyre the service has been great and the no questions asked, 24 hours after first email hand delivered replacement for free has been a great experience. The guy was very nice as well his does his training after work so did his route to go passed my place :)

So I will give this next one a roll and see how we go.
